This is a really good pump and it has lots of power. The multiple options for spray heads is great and you can also connect a secondary attachment. It’s very easy to assemble. The company also has great customer service and responds to email inquiries very quickly.

This is a very wel made and functional pond filter. My current garden pond is relatively small and I had been using a much smaller pump / filter combition. I was amazed at how much cleaner the water was using this filter. It extracted so much extra debris that I had to clean it daily for the first 3 days, but since then it has kept the water clear and clean without an addtional cleaning for over a week.I have had a similar filter system before with the bio-balls and container. However, my previous filter box had a lid that "snapped" on and was always coming off. The lid on this unti has 4 latches that securely hold the lid in place. Perfect! The only downside to this pump, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that the pump only has a 6 foot cord. That really limits where within the pond the filter can be placed. I would like to have had at least a 9 foot cord with a pump this size.Otherwise, it's a great filtration system!

This review is for the Pond Filter with Fountain Pump Kits, 660GPH Pond Pump and Filter Kit with 50W Submersible Water Pump, Pond Filters for Outdoor Ponds Clean Koi Pond Filter. So this is a really nice well made pump filter box setup! It comes with everything you need to get started! This great setup can be used in an outdoor fishpond or in a large aquarium indoors. We have both LOL. I plan on enlarging the outdoor pond and I have BIG indoor aquariums I'll be getting set back up, so haven't decided just where I'll use this yet. Fish are just so nice and relaxing to watch them. This filter box with the pump in it needs to be fully submerged and weighted down to keep it there, it can be used to to spray above the water to help oxygenate it more with one of the fountain tops or the fountain top can be kept underwater to help create more current/water movement.Depending on the type/size of of the fish I find the ones I keep like having more current, they play in it and swim in and out of it. It's good exercise for them and keeps them healthy and in good condition. The more current also helps keep particles/poop and stuff suspended in the water column and easier for the filters to filter it out instead of settling a bunch of gunk on the bottom. So why does this matter? It means a healthier environment for your fish and less work cleaning for you!So this comes with some filter sponges and bio balls to put inside the box along with the pump. How often you'll need to clean the filter depends on many factors... how big is system(gallons of water?), what is your fish load relative to the gallons, is this the only filter or are you using multiples, do you use plants in your pond/aquarium, do you have issues with leaves and stuff falling into your pond, do you have issues with algae, how much sun does it get a day, is it freshwater or saltwater, are you using a UV sterilizer...? And that's not the end of the list LOL.So whenever you put in a new pond/aquarium/filter setup it has to do what is called cycling. This is the process where the beneficial bacterial build up/grow and begin to work breaking down fish wastes/ food... again numerous things affect this and it can takes weeks to get a new system into equalibrium with the bacteria, nitrates/nitrites... During this time it's best to keep the fish load low, and do not be too alarmed if the water goes through times when it's cloudy, clears up, gets cloudy again... it's all part of the natural process. So it's always a good practice to have more than 1 filter going all the time, this allows you to alternate with cleaning them. Also when you clean the filter NEVER use tap water or water that's chlorinated because it will kill all the good bacteria! Use pond/aqarium water in a clean bucket dedicated to this use. Just swish the bioballs around in it, squeeze the sponges vigorously, rinse out the box...repeat however many times needed, then reassemble and reinstall.I hope all that info helps you. If you don't want to use the bioballs, you can use the ceramic bio rings or whatever other you want. This is a good basic setup that should worjk well.Regular price $ 68.99 per the listing for the one that does 660gpg with the 50watt submersible pump, there's a 10% off coupon and another to save 5% on 2. I like it but I salways say watch for a sale/coupon, browse listings...As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

This pump’s manual gave details about obvious things (like put the pump and filter box under water) but lacked other details where needed. The manual did not mention that the pump had to be positioned in exactly one spot in the filter box or the filter sponges and lid would not fit and close properly. It told me to connect the A1 nozzle to the pump as the first step, but did not show or say what the A1 nozzle was anywhere in the manual. The manual mentions having good contact between the pump body and the magnet. I don’t know what magnet they are referring to. The more I read this manual the more confused I get. I am grateful they do provide an email address for problems and customer service. I have contacted them about their “bio balls”. The manual did not explain what the round “bio balls” were for or if I needed to clean them when cleaning the pump. One bio ball did arrive broke in two on the seams. My husband reglued it.I tested the heavy pump in my sink and it did function well. I am concerned that I apparently need to put heavy weights on the filter box to keep it submerged (there is a warning label about this on the filter box and it is repeated in the manual). It is also hard to move the pump in the filter box. The pump has 4 suction cup feet that hold onto the filter box floor very tightly. I accidentally pulled out one foot from the pump trying to move the pump. It was difficult to get it back in. This may be a reliable pump. I give it 4 stars due to the manual.I am happy to say I did get an email response from the customer service in less than 24 hours about the bio balls. A later email gave me even more advice on how to make my filtration system work better.
