Love the idea. Not as sold on the quality. You'll get one season out of these water sprays but I'll be surprised if you get more than one. Mine get gunked up with plant debris, and they get white water deposits on top almost immediately that make them less attractive. If you're putting them into a pre-formed pond, be prepared for them to float to the edge where the wind will take the water out of pond. The battery life is sufficient and they do well in even low sunlight. They just don't have the durability that I'd prefer. I will continue to replace them each year though because I do like the water movement they provide.

I use this in a standard birdbath and it worked extremely well. I would highly recommend it. I did have to clean it twice during the summer, but that was an easy process using an old toothbrush. The water flows very easily, but the different tips and it pumps with any kind of directsunlight.

This item was easy to assemble. My only struggle was that the plastic pipes were a fraction of a bit long and did not fit snugly in my newly purchased water plate/bowl for Birds. Although the plastic stabilizer pipes are retractable and extendable, which is a great feature, I wonder If I can either cut it to size for a proper fit or if there is an option to purchase smaller size pipes? At the present time the item floats only at the very edge of the water bowl, I have to pour water in the bowl at least 2-3 times a day to keep the water level up to the edge for good function. Other than that, this is a good item. It worked as per its instruction booklet. I like all the various fountain options. Very satisfying to watch. So far only one bird has shown interest in drinking the water and taking a bath in the water plate/bowl. Easy to clean. I recommend cleaning the filter at least once in two weeks. Efficient item. I opened the package and there were so many parts. But all we needed were the base and one or two other pieces for a basic fountain. All the variations will probably never be used. The sticks to keep the disk stable is not useful because after a while the water level goes down due to spillage and evaporation and then the fountain doesn't work though the motor keeps going. Better to just let it float according to the level. I thought the mesh that come with it will be useful to keep out debris, but there are no instructions on how to use it. I have to refill the water every day. But the good thing is that the aeration during the day keeps the water from getting murky. Adding water is enough. I have been enjoying it for a week. I hope it lasts.I took off one star for unnecessary parts, packaging and poor instructions.

Great little solar fountain, needs direct sun to work not so good when cloudy. Easy to clean filter and a control for pump speed on the bottom.Would have bought another but they upgraded this fountain from 2.2 watts to 3.5 watts and more than doubled the price.?????I bought a different brand fountain for 1/2 the price of the upgraded fountain.

Works great with the sun out. If it gets plugged with dirt, a little compressed air works great. This is the second year we had the foundation and it still works like the day we boughtIt.

Works really well as long as there is lots of Sun light.

I call this my “poor man's water feature.” I love looking out my window to see birds getting a drink or taking a shower under the water shooting up. I should warn you about a few things. 1. This thing can empty your birdbath in 20 min on a windy day. All the water goes over the side. Oops. 2. My first one of this brand unexpectedly stopped working after 2 weeks. I had to return it and ask for a replacement, which arrived quickly. The new one is working fine so far (about one week). 3. Don't buy one of these without the nifty little outriggers that keep the fountain away from the edge of your birdbath. 4. Don't lose the outriggers in the grass. They are impossible to find in tall grass and there's only one solution...buy a new fountain. Good luck. I love mine, now that this replacement is working. Enjoy.

07/11/20213months after I purchased it… today i tried to clean the unit and the birdbath.After cleaning was done, I added water and placed the fountain on the bath, just as what I had done in the past few months.What… no water from the fountain, even with full sun!I shook the unit. Put it back on the bath. Still not water fountain. Very disappointed. It will be put into recycle bin. Disappointed.DON’T BUY. NOT RECOMMENDED. Junk… 😠05/06/20211 month after I deployed it, today, as a routine, I took the fountain aside and I used bare hands to wash the birdbath. Then I noticed the solar surface looked unusual… there were dark and shiny areas on the Matt grey surface. I took a closer look… the Matt grey color was actually a coating on the surface of the solar cells. Some of this coating had become loose. I moved my bare hand over the spot… wow… the grey coating came off. See for yourself…This was totally unexpected. Thus far, this issue does not seem to stop the fountain from working under the sun. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I hope the manufacturer can respond to this issue.Until I am satisfied with the remendy, I am changing the ratings to 3 stars.NOT RECOMMENDED—————————————————————————————————————————————————I looked at a number of similar products on the Amazon site. Majority of them fail in a fairly short time.I was a bit put off by this.But in the back of my mind, I wonder why so many fail. Then a few days ago... an idea came... water left under the sun will start to grow all kinds of things... slime and dirt and what not. People left it under the sun , not doing regular maintenance - like changing water with fresh ones frequently, washing off any dirt and grime. So I deduced that in time, the pump mechanism sucks up enough dirts and grime, will clog up and stop working.As if Amazon knew what I was thinking, the next day, I received an email from Amazon suggesting this particular make. After looking into it in greater details, I realized that this is a better product, designed to perform better - that it has a foam piece material in the suction to minimize dirts from being sucked up and create blockage.I have been using it for a couple of days. I wash the bird bath every morning, clearing all residues from the dish, and refill with fresh water. So far so good.However, I am bothered by the fact the the bird bath quickly loses water... I already chose a low spray but the wind blows the sprays to the side and loses water. So in half a day, the spray diminishes to a tiny flow. Today, following other reviewers, I removed the spray nozzle. Just let water flow freely from the open top. This far, it has retained enough water to keep the water flowing in decent quantity.I don’t know how long it will last. My 1st experience about such product. Hence the 4 stars for now. Come winter time, when I remove it for the cold weather... if it still works, I shall change it to 5 stars.
