I have owned and used nearly a dozen of these solar fountains now. This particular model isn't awful. It works. And having a working fountain in a bird bath is a huge plus. Moving water is very attractive to birds; If you're looking to increase the popularity of your bird bath, definitely consider a solar fountain.My issue with this particular product is a design flaw that's rather common in these solar fountains -- the pump is significantly thicker than the depth of the solar panel. This means that the pump tends to get high-centered when in a shallow bird bath. The distance between the bottom of the pump and the intake holes on the sides of the unit means the pump will be dry and the fountain won't work if your water depth dips below the height of the intake holes. That's annoying. It's also an issue because best practice says that the depth of water in a bird bath should be between 1-2". This fountain needs nearly 2" of water to function. If your basin isn't perfectly level, the fountain will high center and grind away without water. If, in the heat of summer, your water evaporates or your wildlife visitors drink/use water and reduce the volume, again, your pump will high-center and grind away dry.So... it works but it's not a good choice for best-practice bird baths.

I love providing an oasis for all the different creatures in my garden. This solar powered birdbath pump does the job well. I use mine in a deeper plant pot than in a regular bird bath and it works fine. Would be excellent in a small pond as well. A must have to complete your garden.

This is a floating fountain for bird bath “ponds”. It has a solar panel on the top surface to power the pump, and the fountain floats on the surface of the water. It comes with 8 tip options for different style spray patterns. The fountain is reasonably quiet when running, but needs strong direct sunlight to power. Ambient or cloudy sunlight will not trigger it.If powered correctly, it seems like a functional product. I can’t speak to the longevity of the pump, how well the filter works, or how well the solar panels function over time. (Do they get crusted over and lose power? Do they degrade?) Otherwise, it’s not bad for an inexpensive and small fountain system for bird baths.

I got this to add to a small pond. This is working just fine right out of the box for me. Just set it up in the sunlight and now I have a fountain too. A quick, easy upgrade and it is nice to hear the water too. It's not very large, but that can be a good thing if you want to use it in a bird bath or such...

Received this as a birthday gift 6 months ago and it still works well. I haven't used any of the included attachments as l love the gurgling sight and sound without any extras. It took the birds a while to grow comfortable with it, but, they enjoy it now. I liked this pump so well, l have ordered 2 more to give as Christmas gifts. Hope they work as well as mine!
