I’m glad I ordered this. I’ve had a dead snag hanging over my driveway for years. I’ve tried pulling it down with winches, chains and tractors. No way I was hiring a tree service for this small job. It was out of reach of my ladders, and renting a lift is expensive. I used this today and it exceeded expectations. I love that the main blade has stops on either end, making it easier to make cuts when you can’t really see what you’re doing. The blade is very sharp. I like how it’s all packaged in a duffel bag. And it all fits back into the bag easily. A couple of things to know:*screw the sections together tightly. Any looseness at all impacts the stability of the pole.*check those connections every time you bring it down to move it to a new spot.*tighten down the hardware on the lopper attachment and check those frequently as well.*the saw blade will work best right against the tree trunk, so it’s supported. Once you’re deeper in the cut it’s not an issue, but getting started can be tough since the blade is flimsy. This isn’t commercial grade equipment, but neither is the price. It’s perfect for the homeowner who will only need it occasionally. I was able to clean up an area in the trees that had been eyesore for years. Then stowed the equipment in the bag and put it away until next time. Best $80 I ever spent.

Was very satisfied with the pruner. Extension poles are of excellent quality. Two saws and prunner are strong and very sharp. Carrying case is extremely handy. Look forward to long time use.

the saw is very sharp, easy too put together and sturdy. It is a little heavy when it gets some length.

A friend of mine is an arborist. He helped me get some branches off of the lines with this tool and commented on its high quality. The teeth on the blade are very sharp and the pulley system for clipping thinner branches and vines are very effective, though I can tell you from my own personal use that it becomes unwieldy when you connect all of the sections. The center of gravity moves further away from you as you add them and, if you don't already have it more or less vertical and leaning on something, you probably won't be able to bring it from the horizontal to the vertical.

I put all the sections together to the full 27’ length. I’m 6’1 and was able to cut down 2 broken branches from over 30’ that were hanging on. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of this kit given the price point. I have not tried the branch pruner so no comment there. I feel like this pole saw would work well at heights up to 25’ and some people would be able to get branches up to 30’ although it is admittedly a struggle. I’m so glad I bought this saw instead of hiring someone to come out and cut down the high branches. Again, for the price I would recommend.

I’m a former professional arborist and I was hesitant to buy this because it seemed gimmicky to me. These days I don’t have all the gear though and only have one big gum tree to trim so I rely on hand tools. The fact that you can’t get around is that tree work is hard work, but you have 4 options to do it. 1. Harness up and climb. (My previous preference) 2. Get a cherry picker. ($$$) 3. Get a tall ladder (easy to hurt yourself or worse) or 4. Get a freaking long pole saw and have some patience. Number 4 is my new preference as it got the job done in a fraction of the time it takes my to harness up and climb solo. The saw at full length is heavy, but manageable if you’re in decent shape and have good arms. Best way to get it up is to lift it a little, let it fall some, and then bounce back up. If you’re only using it in the 3-10 foot range, I thought it was pretty easy to handle.Quality and build were surprisingly impressive. The saws were about as sharp and fast as the Corona saws. For a handheld, I still prefer my corona saw, but this one with just one of the segments added wins for me.I didn’t try the pruner attachment, but I can promise you the saw is better and I can’t really picture a situation where the pruner is better. All that said, I highly recommend it. It’s not a five star because it feels a little bit Harbor Freighty, but I love it!

I am glad to have purchased it as it is lightweight and useful for common yard pruning but it has limits. It is awkward and time consuming to screw the pieces together to lengthen or shorten and it bends quite a bit when too many poles are used to reach a high spot. Also it is far from commercial grade as the pruning head is held in place with butterfly bolts that easily come loose and in my case had to be replaced with bolts from the local hardware store. The pruning head works very well. The saw looks aggressive but it actually does not cut very well in my opinion.Five or so years ago I purchased a pruning and saw set that is heavier duty than this item constructed of 6 foot aluminum poles that easily snap together and apart and to this day that set is working well and outperforms this item by far. It seems no longer to be available in the marketplace. This set is a good second alternative for light work but is not suitable for a day of heavy pruning work.
