I had the canon photo printer for years. It was pretty easy to use. This is very similar to the Canon version. It uses Dye diffusion film, no inks at all. Which produce much better quality images then the ink jet printers. Don't need to worry about cleaning the print head or anything. The paper will need to feed through the printer 4 times, to get all the colors imprinted on to the paper. Once its done, it does look like the traditional developed photos. But keep in mind this is NOT an actual polaroid film photos. This is still a digital photo printed. Unlike the instax photo printers, they produce an actual analog photo, from the chemicals. I do like the design and the color of this printer. The white and the red style. Very cute. I do wish there is some type of battery option, so I can use it remotely, when I am not in the office. (Canon version does have the battery option)

I am amazed at how nice the pictures come out. I was a little skeptical at first but it has been fun being able to instantly print a picture. I will get a lot of use out of it. Mine is the 4x6 size, I felt the 2x3 was just too small for what I wanted.

I've seen a couple portable printers and I'd say this is one of the more compact printers out of the bunch. Other models from other brands have more buttons and other 'features' that are pretty lackluster. This printer is more straight to the point and does everything within the app. You've got the usual filters and some other editing options. As someone who doesn't read manuals, set up was a breeze and I didn't have too much trouble putting things together. The ribbon only fits one way so you can't mess that up, and the paper tray was a little confusing at first but it clicked in nicely. The prints come out nice but it does take a while for it to come out. It works like most other dye sub printers which use a ribbon to print out the colors one by one. The paper can be put in any way so you will have to rip off the edges. They're perforated but they don't always rip that easily.I wish they came out with a battery option so I could truly use the portability of this.

I won a Fujifilm Instax Wide Printer last year and was curious how the photos would print out of the Polaroid Hi-Print Bluetooth 4x6 Photo Printer in comparison. The Instax is a traditional instant photo printer (like the older Polaroid cameras) while the Hi-Print is a dye sublimation printer. I printed the same photo on each and the Polaroid Hi-Print did a much better job, as I expected. The photo has more clarity than the Instax version (it's a little muddy as instant print photos usually are) and it's a full 4" x 6" where the Instax photo is effectively half that size. The Hi-Print photo has the typical look of a dye sublimation print – a little high in contrast with the skin tones yellower than what it looks like on my calibrated monitor and my iPhone. The first print I made came out too light so I reduced the brightness by 5% and it came out right. The phone app (I use an iPhone) was very easy to use and pretty intuitive. It gives several options for printing and allows editing. I like the app quite a bit. The printer itself is fairly compact but the tray that holds the photo paper extends out quite a bit. It's also a little difficulty to remove when you want to put the printer way. As this unit has a regular AC power cord, it's not as convenient as a battery-powered printer but adding a rechargeable battery to the printer would likely make it larger and definitely heavier. The photo paper is reasonably priced (effectively $ 0.50 a print). This printer is set up to print from a mobile phone and not from a computer. It is a convenient way to get a (relatively) quick 4x6 when you need it. It's not an instant print so it does take a little time. First, it processes the image in the app and then the photo paper is pulled through the printer three times – one pass for each of the colors. The photos are vibrant and crisp. If you're looking for a way to print photos from your phone without having to go to a photo lab, this is a great option.

I was super excited for this product. I printed my first photo and there are areas where you can see the different color passes (random red spots throughout). The image itself also came out a little blurry. The second picture I tried to print came out absolutely awful (one pass of yellow and 1/3 red, wouldn't finish printing) and now I can't even print because the cartridge jammed. The printer says I don't have a cartridge in after cleaning it up. Disappointing since you have to buy another pack of paper to have the cartridge.
