Soo i think the metal carabiner is actually messing with the compass because it always points to the metal carabiner. I tried just leaving it on a level surface and it still doesn't point north. There's a thermometer on the back and it always says 70... I don't think this works idk why

I like the size and the weight of the key chain. However, it's not anywhere near acurrate as a compass.

Clips to my key ring, not too big. Looks cool.Seems to work. Points North. Not fancy. Easy to read, for as small as it is.I attached it to my key ring, which doesn't help me find my keys, but when I do find them, I know where they are, relatively speaking.

It’s built well, durable, and functional. My kids obsessed with compasses so this was a perfect little gift for him. He likes it a lot, it’s small and lightweight and can be clipped right onto his backpack, and it works well! It’s pretty accurate as far as I can tell - when compared to other compasses. And over all it’s a good little product and my kid likes it, price point was nice and he’s dropped it a thousand times and it’s fine. Would recommend.

Heavy duty little compass. I use it on my snowmobile key. It is recommended to have one while riding for safety.

Review of Pocket Compass: A Must-Have Hiking and Survival ToolWhen it comes to outdoor adventures, especially hiking and camping, having reliable navigation tools is essential for safety and confidence. A pocket compass is one of those fundamental pieces of gear that often gets overshadowed by GPS devices and smartphones, but I recently had the chance to test a pocket compass specifically designed for hiking and survival purposes, and I'm thoroughly impressed.Design and Build Quality:First impressions matter, and this pocket compass does not disappoint. It has a compact and lightweight design that easily fits into my palm or pocket, making it incredibly portable. The casing is made of durable materials that can withstand the rigors of outdoor use, including bumps and drops. Moreover, the inclusion of a protective cover ensures that the compass face remains scratch-free, which is crucial when you're bustling around in the wilderness.Functionality:The functionality of the compass is where it truly shines. The needle is exceptionally responsive and provides quick stabilization, allowing for accurate readings even in less-than-ideal conditions. I took it out during a recent hike in a densely wooded area, and I was pleasantly surprised by how swiftly it pointed to true north, cutting through the confusion often caused by the surrounding trees and terrain. One of the standout features of this compass is the clear and easy-to-read dial. The markings are bold, and the luminescent feature allows for visibility in low-light conditions, which is a huge plus when you find yourself navigating back in the evening. It also includes a sighting mirror, which can be very useful for triangulating your position using distant landmarks.Usability:For both novice and experienced hikers, the usability of a compass can be a determining factor in its effectiveness. I found this pocket compass easy to operate thanks to its straightforward design. The instructions were clear, and I appreciated the inclusion of a small guide on basic orienteering techniques. Whether you are already familiar with compass navigation or just starting to learn, the compass provides an invaluable educational resource.Versatility:While this compass is clearly designed with hiking in mind, it’s also versatile enough for other outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and even some emergency preparedness for survival situations. Knowing how to navigate with a compass could be a lifesaver if you find yourself without electronic devices or something goes awry in the wilderness.Value:Considering its performance, build quality, and versatility, this pocket compass is priced reasonably. It offers excellent value for anyone serious about outdoor exploration. Given that it's a relatively low investment for a crucial survival tool, I would highly recommend it.Conclusion:In conclusion, this pocket compass is an essential piece of gear for anyone who loves the outdoors. It combines functionality, durability, and ease of use, making it suitable for both beginners and seasoned adventurers. While modern technology continues to evolve, investing in a quality compass is a reminder that some classic tools remain irreplaceable. Whether you’re traversing well-marked trails or venturing deep into the backcountry, having this pocket compass on hand will undoubtedly enhance your outdoor experience and give you peace of mind. Highly recommended!

I got this for our bug out bag because it's small and won't take up too much space. I can hook it to the outside and not take up any space inside. I mainly got it for the compass and the temp gauge is a nice bonus! I noticed that the compass pointer sometimes sticks and you have to tap it a few times to get it moving - then it'll usually land on the correct direction and sometimes you might have to give it a few more taps..At first I thought it was giving me wonky readings, then I figured out it's the speakers on my desk that were affecting the readings.. My phone also skews the results. It's the magnets in the speakers but electronics in general may impact readings.I got my good compass out of my Jeep and compared the two. I was shocked to find the little compass was actually reading correctly! You can't be near electronics / speakers and you have to hold the compass flat. You still may have to tap it a few times in your palm to be sure it isn't stuck. You might take a few readings to be sure, but that's it - it's fairly accurate! The temperature gauge on the back seems to read hotter than the actual temp by a few degrees. Because the dial is so small it's hard to read the actual degrees. So if the house thermostat is set on 72, the compass's thermostat shows 75+. Overall not bad though.I wold recommend for the price for sure. But if you need a really nice compass, this might not be it.
