Read speed is about 115 MB/s, which isn't bad for an inexpensive drive. Write speed is slow at 12-15 MB/s. I used them for installing windows and imaging computers, so most of what I do is based on read speed. Yes, it takes forever to get one ready, but once that is done with they are fine.

These are pretty fast. I've used the 32 GB version for a few years, so when a deal came along on the 64 GB version I jumped on it. I like the sliding cover. It still leaves the end open, but it does offer some protection. You can't go wrong with a PNY device. I know, because I've been using their memory products for over 25 years and have never had a failure. I first used their RAM in a Pentium I built. Yah, I'm showing my age.

I've used these flash drives many times each without failures or issues. Transfer speeds are consistent with the specs. Have been able to reformat the flash drive in several different formats without issue.

If you just need some OS install drives/cold storage, these will not disappoint. If you do a lot of transfers and need those transfers to be fast, spend the extra money on 1 or 2 faster drives. For my needs (cold storage) they get the job done and are just "ok" for 3.0 r/w speeds. They do seem to get a little warm but not alarming so.They're on the larger side so they're easy to find but I would not leave them plugged into a laptop, they will definitely snag and be obstructive if trying to fit the laptop in a bag with these left in.

I've bought many of these. Not one has failed and the CF is fast. Ignore reviews saying speed is slow. I have tested both random read/write and sequential read/write. The latter meets the manufacturer's claimed speed. Used them for backups, installing new OS, and for music in my truck. All work fine.

Changed this fro 1 star to 3 stars. I think one of them was defective because I didn’t get the heating issue. And you get what you pay for so I guess they are alright.Original comment:You can fry an egg on these guys upon prolonged use. I only use them for transferring files.
