So far I like it a lot, only have had for a couple days, but it was easy to install my dot into, no problems with the sides breaking, just an easy snap on after plugging in the built in cord and done. Charged to full before using and so far it’s been great.

This is a really great accessory. It is easy to connect to your existing Dot. And, it gives it great mobility. I don't want to put a unit in my greenhouse or my work shed. But, if I know I will be out there for awhile, it is nice to have with me since we use it as a family intercom.

I really like my Echo Dot. In fact, I have two of them: One in the kitchen, the other in the bedroom. When I am in or near those rooms, no problem. Sometimes, however, I am working in the garage or sitting out on the deck and would like to have my music or radio with me. Since the Dots natively are tied to a power outlet, that is not always practical, since moving them require unplugging them and having them reboot. This neat little base makes my Dot turn into a mini boombox that I can cart around the house at will, as long as I am within range of my Wifi network. This battery/base is a nice investment that has improved the flexibility of my Dot tremendously.

[ITEM]: PlusAcc Battery Base for Dot 5th Gen & Dot 4th Gen & Cellphones - 5000 mAh Portable Charger Stand Holder, Rechargeable Charging Dock Station for Dot 5 & Dot 4 & Smartphones & Earbuds (Black)[BRAND]: PlusAcc[COMPATIBLE DEVICES]: Dot 5th Gen & Dot 4th Gen & Smartphones & Earbuds & Smartwatch and more[COLOR]: BlackHey everyone,I recently picked up the PlusAcc 5000 mAh Portable Charger Battery Base for my Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release), and I thought I’d share my thoughts:[PORTABILITY AND CONVENIENCE]: One of the things I love about this battery base is the freedom it gives me to move my Echo Dot around the house or even into the backyard without losing Alexa or having to drag the cord along. It’s super convenient to just pick it up and go.[CHARGING LIMITATIONS]: However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the only way to charge the battery base is with the Echo cord, and it doesn’t come with its own charging device. This limits its appeal for some uses. For instance, I don’t want to drag my Echo cord with me to the park. It would have been much more convenient if it could be charged via USB-C like most other rechargeable devices these days. I have USB-C chargers in every room and every purse, so being able to charge it as needed without bringing the cord along would have been ideal.[BATTERY CAPACITY]: The device does allow you to charge your phone a bit via a USB-C port in the back, but keep in mind that the battery is only 5,000 mAh. If you’re trying to charge your phone while playing music at full volume, you’ll run out of battery and lose your Alexa device before fully charging your phone. It’s basically good for an emergency boost to make a quick call if your phone is dying.[FIT AND SECURITY]: As for the fit, I do hear a “click” sound when my Echo Dot fits into the base, but it’s not very secure. If you pick it up by the Echo, the base falls off. So, if you’re planning to use this outside at a picnic where there might be wind or jostling at a table, it’s not very secure. On the plus side, the cord does stay in the Echo if it gets jostled out of the clips.[OVERALL THOUGHTS]: For what it is, I’m happy with it. It’s really convenient to not be tethered to the cord and to be able to move it across the room without losing Alexa. Just be aware of its limitations and you’ll be fine.Hope this helps anyone considering this battery base!

Saw other brands of similar items and chose this one because it has the extra port on it to charge my phone with. There was almost a full charge out of the box, but I gave it a charge overnight anyway just to be safe. I put my Echo Dot on the base where it snaps in easily, then plugged it in with the discreet plug on the back, and finally turned on the unit using the power button on the front. The 4 LEDs on the front lit up and then the Echo Dot started to boot up without any issues. Plugged in the cable for my phone just to see if it would charge and it also had no problems. This really is a great product especially now for bonfire season.

Easy to take to the deck, when it’s in the house it’s part of the surround sound….perfect and well worth it.
