If you do any soldering on computer boards or motherboards you have to have something like this. It has the little hook at the bottom that attach itself to what you're either on soldering or soldering in.In this case you're getting two for the price of one. There really no reason why these would not last a lifetime not unless you have a job soldering things 5 days a week. Even then he should last you a long time. I have seen these before and really did not think much about it until I started a big project rebuilding my pickup truck. I realize that I saw this tool before. After starting to unsolder one board I knew that I needed this. The opportunity came to get a set and I went ahead and ordered it. I already used it once today after delivery.

A nice 2 pack of IC remover/extractor tools. I would typically use these to remove IC's with pins like DIPS that are in sockets., you can get under the chip and pull it without damage. These are definitely a good tool to have in you electronics tool box or drawer for when you need it. Now for surface mount I would use tweezers.
