It's fun when it works, but it requires a ton of light to see the icons on the globe. I also don't like that it doesn't work correctly on my son's fire tablet.

I bought this for my grandkids as a Christmas gift and it is a very nice way to get them interested in learning. Very happy with purchase and will order future products. Highly recommend this for early school ages.

The globe and app are great conceptually together. My toddler loves reading the little animal, cultural, maps trivia that magically pop up in the app. However, there’s a few things that mildly annoy me about this product.First, I am annoyed the maps cater to certain political sensitivities, such as including Mongolia (not Inner Mongolia) and Taiwan as part of mainland China.I’m also mildly annoyed that lining up the points on the physical globe with the iPad camera isn’t consistent. If there’s insufficient lighting (slightly too dark) or too much lighting (glare), the app can’t figure out what you are trying to view.Lastly, we enjoy the quiz section of the app. However, the answers are sometimes inconsistent with what the voice says, or what the text says. For example, Nigeria has 520 spoken languages (text), but the voice says 250.

The same globe has changed my 5 years old daughter personality. After 6 months of using the product, she know nearly 100 countries. It triggered her curiosity about different cultures and languages. I was surprised that she went on YouTube and learnt to count 1 to 10 in Portuguese inspired by the globe.

This project has a strange mixing of extreme positive and negative reviews, particularly recently. Now, some of those negative reviews are due to people who are complaining without buying it because they say the earth is flat... so if that's your viewpoint, let's just say you shouldn't buy a globe but shouldn't be reviewing one either. Go review a map or something. But those aside, there are still some really negative reviews, which sometimes makes me skeptical of whether the positive reviews are real or if those people got it for free, etc.As a result, I was skeptical when I bought this, but my verdict is that I love it. And more importantly, our 6 year old daughter does. I know several reviewers have complained about the buggy app, so I think it may not work on as many different phones and operating systems as Shifu claims. I know I tried to install it on my daughter's "phone" (and yes, my 6 year old daughter has a phone but it's our old iPhone 6 with the SIM card removed that just has music and education apps installed on it), the app did NOT work correctly, even though the phone is running the current iOS version. However, I put it on my iPhone 8 and had NO issues finding it, installing it or using it. Considering our 6 year old can and does use my phone by herself to use and learn about various places around the globe, it seems to be designed to work pretty easily for most people. So I highly recommend it. I was a little skeptical about the whole "globe with no countries" thing that I've also seen some people complain about. I'm definitely not into new-age education (in fact I'm a college business professor), but I don't have a problem with it. I think the globe would be too busy if it had all the country lines AND the pictures on it designed to captivate kids attention. And when you use the app to learn about a place, you can see country flags and whatnot. Maybe in a future version it can show you the country boundaries if you want to see them, which would be nice.
