does a fine job - already crushed HUNDREDS of cans, and it's still working great.i honestly didn't think it'd last more than a few days, but it has been a good one, and still works as well as the day i first used it.

This is actually the same as the one we had but lavked adequate dipport on the bottom plate. I had to spray some silicone on all moving points. It was so stiff I thought it eould break. It works fine now.

I screwed this inside the pantry cabinet. It mounts easy. I put a bag for cans only and it filled up quickly. Amazing that it’s put so many cans into a good small bag. Now the recycle bag doesn’t fill up as fast. Score!!!!

I got this so we could save space in the trash can and start to recycle cans more often, and this allows us to save space in the recycling bin so it helps cut down on making more trips as often to the transfer station (the dump and recycle place).

I was so tired of soda cans accumulating because I could not smash them and my husband had “better” things to do. I ordered this Pit Bull can crusher. My husband mounted it on a piece of 2X4 then attached that to the wall in the garage. It is so easy to use. I always squeeze the side of the can just a bit before I put it in the can crusher. It makes it even easier to collapse the can.

We all know how this works by now; You always get exactly what you pay for. That being said, this product does the job it is intended to do. The handle construction is slightly flimsy and the mounting system could be better. There are three holes at the top of the crusher, but there is only one at the bottom which can cause some rocking at the bottom when crushing a can if you put any sideways torque on it. Just take care when using the handle and you shouldn't have any issues. If you are handy and have a drill you can add some extra mounting holes at the bottom to stop this torquing problem. The best piece of advice I can give you is to make sure that you are mounting this in the center on a stud and not simply directly into drywall. The primary con to this crusher is that it only fits standard "soda" can sized 12 oz. cans. The mouths opening is 5" fully open and 1" fully closed. You will not be able to use this for any kind of larger energy drink can or the taller/skinnier style beer can, so keep this is your cross check when buying a crusher. Giving those a mild twist and crush before using this product will help it fit inside the crusher however.Either way you look at this, you can't beat this crusher for the price.(Side Note: The product I received has a red handle unlike the pictured crusher with a black handle. This doesn't bother me at all, but its worth mentioning)

I also was skeptical about purchasing this item after reading the negative reviews but then I read the positive reviews and after reading the one from the person who said that you should first "dent" the cans near the top with your fingers I decided to buy one. I have only had it a few days but have used it several times and I have no complaints. it's sturdy and does the job that it's intended to do. It sure beats having to step on the can like I was doing before I bought it and it compacts the cans more so I can get more of them into the storage bin than before.June 19, 2015 update...I bought this about 18 months ago and have averaged crushing two cans daily. It works well if you first dent the side of the can using your fingers to squeeze it (as stated above). The only minor problem is that the handle doesn't always stay in the"up" position after crushing. Would I buy it again? Yes.June 29, 2016 update....Now after 30 months of use averaging close to two cans per day (approximately 1,800 cans) it is still going strong.March 29, 2017 update. Still crushing average of 2 cans per day (+/- 600 more) with no problems.

a considerable number of aluminum cans are non-returnable, but they can always be recycled for cash. once i started collecting them from roadsides and trash containers, i needed a can crusher to compact my aluminum treasures until my next visit to the recycling center. i picked this crusher for no reason other than it's ability to tackle the larger 16oz can. unfortunately, there's a 23oz monster out there that none of the available crushers will handle. i'm not sure if the maker of this crusher had intended this to be used on aluminum cans or paper cups. this device sucks!!! the construction is very cheap and the handle is wobbly. the standard 12oz can is more than an admirable foe for this pathetic crusher. crusher??? it should be called a hugger instead!!! already the sides have started to buckle and i feel like it's only a matter of time before it breaks. save your money and invest in a new pair of boots to stomp the cans into submission or purchase a Sledge-O-Matic from Gallagher instead.
