Maybe I don't know what I'm doing with this thing? I make watercolor paint with rocks I find. It was tedious smashing them with a hammer to get to small enough pieces to grind with a mortar and pestle.I DID NOT INSTALL ON A BENCH as I want to be able to smash 7 or 8 times and then transfer to the mortar and pestle. When I smashed the rocks and poured them into said mortar, a bunch of the rock came out the bottom side. I have remedied this by pouring over a cloth or surface I can sweep it off of, but it's still annoying. I used a piece of silicone as a "ring gasket" to prevent this and it helped but I'm not going to risk putting semi precious or even precious precious gemstones into it without a clean surface and a catcher.Smashes stuff pretty well. I wish it wasn't painted cause I don't need anything chipping off, but I went with the value option. If I were to do it again, I'd just spend the extra $40 to get the better versions available.

Its good because it keeps all the material inside. But the crusher kind of sucks. I use a big thick piece of rebar and a mason jar lid and slide the rebar into. And a small Sledgehammer to Break up my material. Its for small amounts of material. And a lot of work.
