Great black ink, very impressed. Flow is fantastic. I use this at home and in my office pen. Not always the most affordable ink, but I have at least 3 other iroshizuku inks and they are all exceptional quality. To me, well worth the extra bucks.

The Pilot Iroshizuku Take-sumi is my choice for pen & ink sketches...This is a smooth flowing ink and great to add little touches of wash to make the drawing come to life. A favorite black for sure:) In fact the whole line of Iroshizuku Pilot inks have beautiful colors...although as an artist of sorts I tend to stick with the black- even the Iroshizuku Yama-Guri (brown) is a pleasure for sketching pen and ink studies. All impressive inks.

I've inked several pens and with the iroshizuku take-sumi (black) and for a left-handed writer, the ink dries quickly. The ink flows well and I like the blackness color.A quality ink that belongs in one's ink collection.

This velvety black ink is lovely. I wrote about 5 pages today with it and it started smooth and stayed smooth. The Asvine frosted blue v126 is inked with it and that’s a great combo. I can’t wait to try it in all my pens. This is my 3rd bottle of Iroshizuku ink. I have shin-Kai and yu-yake. As with them, the bottle is even more beautiful in person as it is in pictures and videos. I have 4 different black inks from a couple different brands and this one has to be my favorite.

This ink is awesome. It really looks like you’re writing with charcoal suspended in water. It’s black but has enough variation to look interesting.

Pilot has the best nibs in the business, in my opinion, and I have been using their pens and ink for decades. For years I only used the Pilot Blue and Pilot Black ink, but during the pandemic I went down the rabbithole and researched different colors and inks. Pilot makes some of the very best inks made worldwide. This bottle of ink was no exception. I'm always wary of buying something like this from Amazon, but I knew they would make it right if the ink was tampered with or there were any other issues. The packaging could have been a bit better with protecting the box of ink inside the box, but the ink is perfect.

This is my first Iroshizuku ink, but it won't be my last. As with most inks, perhaps all, the color will change depending on nib size. I used this first with my Pilot Prera medium, and it turned out a pretty deep black. Then with a Kaweco Skyline Sport extra fine, it's more of a dark grey, which I actually like with the finer line. However, what impressed me most with this ink is how it altered the writing experience with both pens. I swear it makes both write more smoothly. The nibs of both pens are pretty smooth anyway, and though the improvement on the Sport wasn't dramatic, it was still very noticeable, but with the Prera it really was dramatic, If anyone can explain this to me I'd be grateful.Take-Sumi goes on fairly wet but dries quickly, and I was writing on Clairefontaine paper, so the dry time is pretty impressive. This really is a fine ink.
