I wasn't sure what to expect with this jack, but I am really impressed. I had taken out a sound hole magnetic pickup in my Collings Waterloo because I just can't enjoy the sound of a magnetic pickup, no matter how high quality it is. So, it left a gaping hole in my end block, and I couldn't use a strap on it. This jack fits right in the hole, and now I can use a strap. I don't have a pickup to attach to it yet, but the 2.5mm input jack is going to make attaching one really easy.Everything about the jack is solid; there is no slight wiggle here. I'm very happy with this, and when I get a pickup installed, I will include an update.

This item is a replacement end pin jack for an existing piezo pickup installation- or it can be used with a new piezo pickup installation. The main attraction here is that it doesn’t require soldering - making it easier to install. Many piezo pickups under saddle or soundboard transducer designs are equipped with a plug that will fit into this tightly and work well.Quality is high - this installation requires some woodworking skill - unless you are replacing an existing end pin jack of the same or similar type.Photos show reaming an end pin hole in an acoustic guitar as well as an installation view of what the item looks like installed in a hole in a piece of wood. This isn’t a huge project- however expect to be somewhat handy with woodworking. The instrument must be unstrung obviously and hands must reach the end pin jack from the inside- or a wire must be fashioned to be able to fish it through. If you’re unfamiliar with this process - I highly recommend Ted Woodford’s YouTube channel! He has performed this type of installation in great detail. Or - take this piece to a pro instrument repair person - the quality of this part is high and well worth the effort.
