The Philips Automotive Lighting 1156RLED Ultinon LED bulbs, in red, were disappointing. These bulbs appeared dimmer than expected, failing to provide the bright illumination needed for brake or signal lights.Despite being easy to install, their lackluster performance in terms of brightness was a letdown. Given their intended use for visibility and safety on the road, I cannot recommend these bulbs. If you're considering upgrading your vehicle's lighting, I would suggest exploring other options that offer better brightness and visibility.

these are nice bulbs and they are very bright as desribed. They are simply not compatible with any modern car CPU unless you are willing to install load resistors.Warning: Your brake light message will come on.

I bought this product for my 2001 BMW 330xi for my reserve lights. It fit perfectly and is extremely bright, and a lot easier to see at night time while reserving.

These red LED bulbs are smaller than the standard bulbs with this size base, so there is mo problem installing them. They fit fine. They didn't work as turn signal bulbs in my car, because they draw so little power the system incorrectly detects a burned out bulb and blinks very rapidly. I didn't rate longevity, since I have had them for only a month. I expect they will last a long time, but that remains to be proven.

I bought it to replace the old incandescent bulbs in my blinkers on my CBR1100XX rear tailights. These take up the same amount of room and are a direct replacement for their old tech counterparts. As a side note, I replaced the fronts as well (different LED bulbs) and spent 20$ to have a plug and play LED blinker relay made for my bike. I HIGHLY recommend you do the same or any LED blinker is not going to operate properly. 5 stars

I went with a brand name LED to avoid generic ones that burn in a few weeks but these things are a disappointment. See the photo I uploaded (LED on the left, standard filament bulb on the right - clear sky at around 10 am): compared to the stock incandescent bulbs, these are about half as bright (I bought the amber 1156). I'm sure the reflector plays a part but you can tell even by looking at both LED and incandescent outside the housing how dim these are. Unless you somehow try them first and are satisfied with their brightness, steer away from them. I'm not happy that this was a waste of money, since when it's sunny they are dangerously dim and I won't be using them. The saddest thing is that I have the previous version of Philips own 1157 as tail/brake lights and they are way brighter.Other important tidbits: These will need a resistor unless your car has a LED-compatible blinker. Polarity doesn't seem to matter for this specific bulb type.

This fits in my Ford's brake lamps which blow with surprising regularity. It's not so clear from the pictures, but the lamp has 3 sets of 6 leds (total 18) across its surface, with each set about 120 degrees apart. The white housing is made of rather soft plastic which deformed as I fitted the bulb into the socket. It's quite bright but not with a "retina burning" intensity. Some cars (such as my own) indicate a stop lamp failure when using these bulbs. One is supposed to use the resistors (sold separately) to overcome this. These resistors have to be crimped across each bulb's wiring. Each resistor is rather large and is fitted with a heatsink which should be affixed to the vehicle. Seems like a waste of power just to get rid of the message so I've not bothered.

Caused rapid inside console flash on my non-LED VAG rear blinker installation. Oddly other then hearing and seeing the double time blinkers on the console, the exterior blinkers continued to blink properly. The light was illuminating through a red assembly and displayed pure amber although not as bright as OEM bulbs. My other Phillips LEDs in use in my car are working just fine. If you are looking for quality LEDs. Don't think you can go wrong with Phillips. Be sure to confirm the correct bulbs. I used their crosswalk philipsautolighting website. For 3 of my vehicles, I have found the Phillips did a great job putting this together. Gave 5 stars because the Phillips website did not recommend LED for my blinker application but I stubbornly wanted this to work. They were right and I was wrong. Their other bulbs have worked great for the other recommended bulb replacements.
