The PetSafe Funkitty Egg-Cersizer Cat Toy makes playtime more fun and helps your cat lose weight. Fill it with treats or your cats entire meal. Open 1, 2, or 3 of the dispensing holes to customize how fast the treats or dry food come out. Decrease the number of openings to increase the challenge over time. The food pops out of the openings as your cat plays with the toy. Its a great way to slow down cats who eat too fast, encourage your cat to work for each meal, and reward your cat for exercising. Trust PetSafe to help keep your pet healthy, safe and happy.

I love using this as a slow feeder for treats. It forces my cat to work for his snack which he loves to do! But I have found the hole settings don’t line up quite right for the food that I use. There are a ton of settings but it’s better designed for bigger kibbles. For the size of the kibbles I use, the settings are just a couple of mm too big or too small. I make do but I will also keep looking for a better contraption. The egg shape does provide a greater challenge than the spherical toy so my less talented feeder gets the round one and my very crafty kitty gets the egg. As I said I will look for additional alternatives to try to find a toy that has the best setting for the food I use - or I might try another food.

This is a sturdy cat food toy. It’s adjustable to either one hole up to three holes for the food to come out. The best part is it unscrews to fill it and wash it. My cat went right for it, but still needs to figure out that she needs to move it for the food to come out. Good value.

I don't free-feed my cats, they get a can of wet food each. One of my cats had decided this is not enough, and bothers me all day to be fed. She is, indeed, on a diet, because she got a bit porky. With this ball filled with Purena Weight Control (tiny pieces, perfect for "hardest" setting) and a few bits of bigger food that doesn't fit through the holes (to make it harder, and to make sure it's never completely empty, so they never give up on it) she can play all day, and never eat more then half the recommended portion, which is prolly even fewer calories then she spends batting the thing around trying to get foods. It's a great addition to the wet food I give, as one can doesn't offer *quite* enough calories for a cat of her size, nor, in the case of my other cat, enough calories for his activity level. With this, it's occupying all day, reduces the urgency of getting the next meal, and rounds off the calorie count nicely. And for a very reasonable spend. My cats love this thing enough that I have no choice but to buy at least 2 more (1 for each cat +1, same rule as litter boxes :D ) but it really keeps them from being destructive and obnoxious when they are bored and/or want food.I doubt this will work for people who allow their cat to eat whatever/whenever or who frequently give treats/scraps, as those are full of way more flavors and, in the case of treats, chemicals, which makes them more appealing... If, however, you don't free-feed, if you wet feed or portion control, even if you don't use this toy as a meal server, it's great to keep idle paws busyIt's easy to switch settings, although I honestly think it's a bit too easy, even on the hard setting -being that it's intended for meals, not treats, though, this is a very very small complaint, and not even a big deal. It holds about maybe a cup of food at a time, and the holes get down to about 1/4 inch across or so, and are shaped like this --> () so you don't need round food, round-ish flattened foods are good, but X shaped or larger foods are no good, they catch too easily. For a treat ball, there are a few round ones with a single hole that look much harder then this (also on Amazon, in several colors -I ordered a few, and will be reviewing them when they get here ^_^), but it does what it says, my cats love it, and it certainly keeps them occupied

This is a good toy for slowing down my cat while he's eating. If I give him food in a bowl he'll eat at top speed, sometimes so quickly he can't keep the food down. I've closed two of the holes and he's got to work at getting the food out, which slows him down a lot.I've got two of these. One gets used at mealtime, while the other gets hand washed and then air dries for a day. It takes about that long for the water in the adjustable top to dry. It's a good routine, but it means I've noticed a difference between the two.One is in perfect condition, the other is cracked in a couple of places and the screw that holds the adjustable top is rusted. (The rusty screw is on the inside of the dispenser, which means it comes in contact with the food.) I've never dropped either one and the cat doesn't play rough with it--he just pushes it around with his nose. I have no idea why one is cracked. For some reason there's a hole on the bottom. It's partially blocked, but plenty of food still falls out while I'm filling it. This is one "feature" that the dispenser could do without. So it's a good idea that slows my cat's eating. But either I've got one faulty dispenser and one good one, or it's junk and the other one just hasn't started to break and rust yet. It does the job and is adjustable, so when the broken one falls apart I'll get another one, unless I find a different brand that's more durable.
