Good for cats. Ceramic better than plastic.

The flowing water encourages your pet to drink and the water is constantly being filtered. The waterfall is very quiet and gentle, as to not scare the pet. My 2 cats love it, but it took 1 of my cats about a month to not be afraid of it and start drinking. While your cat gets used to it, avoid showing it to the cat without the cover, as that will slow down progress. The pump will make a quiet humming if the water is below 3/4 full, otherwise it is silent.

This is my 3rd attempt at a water fountain for my cats and it's a KEEPER! The cats have loved them all but the plastic one was awful to clean and the ceramic pagoda shape was too noisy (trickling water). This fountain is so quiet I have to look at it to see if its on and it is so easy to clean! After a year, and many cleanings, I did crack the top piece :( Hopefully I can get a replacement piece!Would highly recommend this fountain, it's beautiful, quiet, and easy to clean!

So I’ve used a fountain for my cat for a while, first the cat-it fountain and then a stainless steel one that held more water. The stainless steel one was getting incredibly slimy so quickly, I had to full on take it apart and wash it almost every other day. So after some digging I decided on this ceramic one, my favorite one yet.So, my favorite thing is that it’s an open bowl so that if the power goes out, my cat can still drink. I love that it doesn’t make any noise at all, either the motor or the running water. I can’t stand the sound of a water fountain running, or like that fish tank trinkle sound. My other 2 fountains did that if they got even like an inch lower than full. This one is quiet and amazing. Since the motor is in the bottom and pushes the water up through the big dome in the middle, it can get pretty low and still function, but I wouldn’t recommend relying on that cause you don’t wanna burn out the motor. I love the open bowl because it’s also easy to visually see when you need to refill it and you just pour it right in.This thing is so easy to clean, literally everything except the motor is dishwasher safe, and the cord has a thing where it detaches in the middle so that you can pull the motor out without having to weave the whole cord and plug through the hole. It’s physically so easy and simple to take apart, there aren’t like a hundred pieces of things that all collect slime. I usually clean mine once a week but I’ve left it for a lot longer just being lazy and topping it off, and the slime only developed after a few weeks. It does come with a filter that you can use, but it works without it too. You have to still use the filter housing to help give the water a way to get to the top of the dome, but I left the filter out because I use filtered water already, and I like to use a dental additive that I didn’t want to get filtered out immediately. To be a crazy cat lady just a little, I also love that the ceramic keeps the water pretty cold. I give my cat water out of the water pitcher we keep in the fridge and I’ve noticed he drinks more if it’s a little chilly.Last thing, and what really sealed the deal. The filter housing is pretty much the only plastic thing, and one day I didn’t put it in my dishwasher right (my fault) and it fell to the bottom and melted on the heating element that’s on there. Absolutely my own fault. But! The customer service for this fountain is amazing, I contacted them and they sent me a replacement piece for it, and the shipping was so fast. It didn’t even have to be that fast because without using the motor this is still a decent regular water bowl. But definitely a company worth investing in, and a really good quality and thought out product.

Es mucho más recomendable para la salud de tu mascota que una de plástico o de acero inoxidable.

I have tried water fountains before a few years ago, and I found them to be more trouble than they were worth with all the cleaning involved. I decided to give this one a try to encourage our 2 cats to drink more water. I picked this one, because it was ceramic, dish washer safe, and would still function as a water bowl if the power goes out.Noise -It makes no noise whatsoever. It does not even make a trickle sound.Easy to Clean -I clean the fountain once a week. It takes only a few minutes to disassemble, wash all the pump pieces, and rinse the filters. Then I stick the rest into the dishwasher. I don't wash by hand because the ceramic is very heavy and slippery, and I know that dropping it while washing is very likely. So every weekend, I do an extra load in the dishwasher to wash this along with any other food mats, or other items I can throw in. I think it's also better this way, because the dishwasher will do a better job at sanitizing the ceramic parts.Assembly -It took a few minutes to read the instructions and figure out the first time, but after a couple times from cleaning and reassembling, it feels quick and easy now.Filters -I imagine this depends a lot on the quality of your water. I live in an area with EXTREMELY hard water. I use a Zerowater filter for our drinking water, and I use that to fill up the fountain. So the water is already filtered starting out, and the water fountain filters are used mainly to help keep the water clean for a week until I clean the fountain again. I stupidly forgot to order replacement filters in time to replace after 2 weeks, so we are now on week 4 and the filter seems to be doing fine. In the future, I will probably be replacing the filter after 3 weeks, to be safe.I have not noticed any slime, smells, or anything out of the ordinary as some users have mentioned. If you use unfiltered water to fill the fountain, I would imagine you would need to replace the filters much more often so that may be when the sliminess starts to happen.Drinking more water?I noticed that it does seem to catch their attention, and I feel like I witness them drinking more often than they did with regular bowls. I left their old water bowl out, on the first week for transitioning, and I noticed that they preferred the fountain over the bowl, so that was enough to convince me to keep it.Tips -If you have an anxious pet, that gets nervous from new things, leave their old water bowl next to the fountain when transitioning, and leave the pump UNPLUGGED. At least until you see the pet drink from the unplugged fountain. After they're comfortable drinking from the fountain, try turning the pump on, and leave the old water bowl out still, just in case. When you see the pet drink from the fountain while the pump is on, then you can take away the old water bowl.

Cat loves it. He drinks more water. Its easy to set up and to dissasemble for cleaning. It does not make any water sounds, its quiet so no annoying water trinkling. Also the motor is very quiet. I am happy with the purchase.Only thing, be careful when you clean it, since its mase out of ceramic it could break. But ceramic is a great alternative to plastic, if your cat or dog has allergies due to plastic. My cat had cat acne, little black dots and his lips would get rodent ulcers. Turns out it was caused by plastic. So this product is perfect for my cat.
