My neighbor comes over with his dog all the time and he is always looking for water. Now with this little gadget we don't have to stand over the faucet all the time, the dog can now get his own water. Works great! If your dog has a problem moving the lever to get the water, you can pull the spring out.

PERFECT for my dog! Goes right on the spout where youd put your hose and the dogs lick to drink. Doesnt leak at all, water only comes out when the little spout is moved. Its made out of metal so it should last a long time, definitely worth the buy!

We have owned two of these for over 5 years and absolutely love them, one for our front yard & one for the back. The breeder we got our dog from actually recommended it, as all her puppies already know how to use it when she send them home. We bought one right away and our dog loves it. Zero issues with it dripping. We don't have to worry about the water bowl getting gross or knocked over. We do have hard water so it tends to get some buildup on it which can restrict the amount of water that flows through, so I soak it in white vinegar, scrub with a toothbrush and it works as good as new. We'll never go back to the bowl & plan to train all future dogs how to use this. I feel it's much more hygienic too.

I have a Newfoundlander and he loves it. When he is outside he goes and gets his water from it. He presses his nose against it and lap away. When he is done, it automatically shut off.

This product is faulty, it leaks.The leak is not due to a bad fitting with the tap, it leaks from the bottom.Unable to return product, contact seller, get a replacement or get a refund - Amazon should not allow such situations to exist on their platform. Disappointed with both the seller and Amazon.

Just fix to the outside tap and away you go💧I have a Newfoundland and a Labrador, there's always a large bowl of fresh water for the dogs but this device give them an extra opportunity to get more. The Newfie loves it and is always at the tap but the Lab sometimes prefers a nice cup of tea☕️👍

I got this waterer hoping this would work great with me little dog (about 13 lb dachshund mix) Apparently it was very difficult to train him to drink out it and it took me many hours sitting with him in front of the faucet. I have read the reviews, it seems that this works easier with medium or big size dogs.My dog was very sensitive with the water noise. Once, he heard the water running noise he instantly stepped back and tried to avoid the water. If your dog easily gets scared you probably experience the same thing. Now it seems like my dog feels comfortable with it, and use it when he needs water outside. It works great. I think it is worth of money and training for this. There are some tips I found while training him using it for about a week.1. slow down the water flow.I open the faucet very minimum. So water leaks slowly rather than runs through the waterer. My dog easily gets scared of getting wet, so this made him more comfortable with the faucet.2. train the dog not to be scared of water noise.They recommend using peanut butter to attract the dog to the faucet, so did I. However, the dog gently leaked the PB but always step back when he accidentally push it too hard and make the water noise.I sat with him, and I started to give little pieces of treat when he accidentally pushed it too hard and made the water noise. He learned in about 3 sessions of training getting the idea that when he makes the water noise he gets a treat. After that was like some sort of a game that we play. He pushed the waterer then he gets a treat. About 3 days after he started doing this, he felt comfortable and started to use the waterer just to get the water.I am living in Arizona, and I had to constantly empty and refill the water bowl. I think this product is a simple and great solution that you can have clean water with your dog 24/7. Good luck with your training!

So, I bought this in May '11. My dogs love it! At the time I bought it , I only had one dog - a GSD. She didn't take to it very quickly, but once she figured it out, she's stopped drinking from the water bowl inside. This, is absolutely awesome for me. No more wet floors, no more having to fill up the bowl, and no more dirty water. I eventually stopped putting down the water bowl, and for almost a year now, she's been drinking exclusively out of the Lixit outside. Not long after my GSD had gotten used to drinking out of this, I got a rottweiler puppy. He didn't get it at first either, until the GSD showed him. He instantly understood. He's never (after the first day I got him) drank from anything other than this (and the toilet). Now, last week, I got another puppy. She watched the other two dogs drinking from this and took to it immediately.I can't say enough good about this device. Since the pipe that I have this attached to goes straight down, and into the ground, the water is usually nice and cold. Living in Florida, and having a dog door that's open 24/7, this is the perfect solution. The automatic water bowls pale in comparison. My dogs always get unlimited cold, clean water and I don't have to worry a bit about it!The design of this is impressive too. It's all metal, VERY sturdy, and extremely simple. I read that the design had been around since the 60's unchanged.If you want unlimited clean water for your dogs at all times, just buy this! I'd say get two or three even if you don't have a place to put it that's 100% shaded all day, otherwise I'd imagine it would get hot.
