My module burned out on my 1966 MGB, I used this as a direct replacement and my car started and ran properly.

Made my MGB feel brand new and significantly increased my fuel economy (by about 50%). As a disclaimer, I’d assume the same results could be gained by continuously monitoring and adjusting the points gap, dwell, etc, but pertronix is so much easier and requires zero maintenance. Money well spent.

I've got a bunch of classic cars with distributors and points and in every case, the Ignitor is an upgrade. I used this for my MG-B and noticed an immediate improvement in the smoothness of the engine. I've put Igniters in Jaguar MKII, MG, Ford Pinto, and a Ford Thunderbird and in every case saw an improvement. If your car has points in the distributor, get this simple to install upgrade and say goodbye to points forever.

The first thing you should do as soon as you open the package is put some black tape on the red connector at the end of the black negative wire. I screwed up and automatically put the red connector end on negative and burnt up the module. I have no idea why they would put a red end on it ??? Makes no sense at all unless they want to sell more of the modules. Otherwise they work great.

This is my first experience using PerTronix, and I am quite pleased. I installed these in a 1967 MG (converted to negative ground) with a 1965 engine. The car had not started in over 25 years. Rather than take my chances with the low quality condensers that are being sold today, I bought these based on several recommendations. The installation was very easy - so I easy I was sure I did something wrong. After checking several times that the wiring was correct, I checked for spark. There was definitely a strong spark. After a few other components sorted (carb, fuel pump, etc.) the car started with no hesitation. I will update this rating after the car has some more miles on it, but very pleased so far.

72 MG Midget -- I previously replaced points, cap, rotor, wires, plugs and had it running good but it started sputtering and running so bad I was at a loss. I tried to adjust again but could not get it so instead of a new set of points and condenser I opted for the electronic replacement. I pulled the distributer to install to make it easier but even with that it only took me a half hour. It fired up right away and the sputter is long gone. So far I am happy as can be. I have heard bad things about these units failing suddenly but it has a nice warranty and if you keep your points set in the trunk you will not be stranded. Fingers crossed it will last as long as I have this car.Go for it! Mark which side of your coil is negative (with the lead from the distributer to the coil) so you know where to put the black wire before removing anything
