  • Multiple sparks throughout the entire RPM range with peak current level reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without the heat build-up, increasing coil performance and module reliability.
  • Integrated digital REV limiter with LED feedback for precise RPM setting.
  • Memory safe function stores settings eliminating unintended changes to Rev limit.
  • Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire RPM range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance.
  • Pair with Pertronix Flame-Thrower Coil 44001 or 44011 for optimal performance

Ignitor Electronic Ignition Conversion Kits have proven themselves in applications ranging from race cars to tractors. It is the number one Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit to replace original mechanical points. A Pertronix Points Conversion kit allows you to run a stock distributor while improving the reliability and performance of your ignition system. The Pertronix Ignitor kits simply bolt to the distributor in place of the points assembly and provides a much more accurate trigger signal. This improves the timing accuracy and prevents ‘points bounce’ at higher rpm. The electronic technology also improves the dwell control to improve the spark output of the coil resulting in a hotter spark at the spark plug. With this dependable, self-contained, maintenance free electronic ignition system you'll never replace your points again.

After removing the distributor from the block, it installed very easily. (1968 Thunderbird 429ci)

Installarion in the stock distributor on a 1972 460 Lincoln was easy by following instructions and some YouTube videos.I used a relay to make sure the coil and Ignitor III get 12V when the ignition is on. The Lincoln has a resistor wire that drops the voltage to about 6.5V with the ignition on.I use the 6.5V from the resistor wire (ignition) to switch-on the relay.

This one was easy to install and just works...really well. I used this instead of a high end MSD, etc. as it fits in the stock distributor and keeps that classic look under the hood. Also highly recommend using the Pertronix 2001 Ignition Power Relay Kit along with this product, which I did, as well as the Pertronix 44011 Flame-Thrower III Black 45,000 Volt 0.32 ohm Coil. These 3 together and I've had zero problems with the ignition since.

Had to drill the linkage hole larger to fit. Therefore requiring a smaller "C" retainer. Wasn't an easy installation .

Installed iny '73 f250 with 360fe. Went right in, with no problems. I also installed the recommended Pertronix cap, new wires and new champion plugs. No noticeable power increase, but the driveability is leaps and bounds ahead of the old point setup. Idle is smooth, acceleration is smooth, shifting is nicer. Like a newer truck now.

The item works well, was installed easily, and I like the adjustable RPM limit feature. It appears to be built well, and so far has functioned well in both cold and hot environments. The only drawback is the price, as they aren't giving these away. Overall a good purchase, and so much better than points!

Pertronix ignitor III was super easy to install. I was expecting the idle to smooth out a little bit, but man, I was NOT expecting the overall gains I noticed from this thing. smoother idle, increased acceleration, and a steadier running engine at any rpm range. Also the rev limiter works great, very easy to use. I was hoping the range was a little lower than 4500 rpm, just to make sure I didn't take a chance over-revving, but it still works for sure. At the price I got it (somewhere around 120) this thing just can't be beat for an older engine that is still running mechanical ignition.
