Because they advertise that it’s fully back washable. But that’s a lie. Because the cartridge sits on top of the hole that returns to the pool loosely. If you backwash it, gets displaced, and you’re gonna get a bunch of DE in the pool when you recharge.. furthermore, the pleats in this cartridge would have to stay apart from each other in order for it to get the 48 ft.² of filtration area that it advertises. In actuality, five of the pleats are jammed together, therefore differently decreasing the filtration area you’re actually getting. The regular DE grids are much better because they can be back washed. And they get the filtration that you’re supposed to get because they’re not pleated and they won’t fold over each other.. that’s it.

This filter is an authentic Sta-Rite Filter and if you need a new Filter, this is the one to get.

I had to use a rubber mallet to get the round bottom connector to fit. Seems to be working but my last filter fit snugly around the fitting. This one barely attached.
