Replaced old worn out screen, not sure what exactly it does but I replaced it. There are several different things it improve pool filtration, this is one of them.

These small filters work very well on the intended Swimming Pool Paper Filter. I feel they are overpriced but a must have item to ensure proper pool cleaning of water
