Our 6yo had a bowling ball drop on her great toe and fractured the tip. She needed toe protection at school in the hallway while it healed. We needed to size up for that protection, something to keep in mind. I gave 4 stars because after 4 weeks, the velcro straps are completely destroyed. So I would consider this a "one time injury use" product. It worked for what we needed but would have liked to have it not look terrible the last few weeks of use too.

I bought this shoe not for walking, but for protection and stabilization of my foot while recovering from bunion surgery in my big toe. I'm five weeks post op and still non weight bearing. I have a knee-length CAM walking boot that I wear when out and about, but it's so heavy and cumbersome that I mostly leave it off when at home and sleeping. I needed a lightweight alternative that still keeps my foot/toes stabilized and protected. Specifically, I needed something to prevent further injury to my big toe, which is still really tight and tender, with very limited range of motion, from the surgery.I have these uncontrollable muscle spasms and twitches in my foot/toes during sleep, with an especially bad incident the other night in which a spasm caused my big toe to clench abruptly. Not only was it excruciating, it also set me back a lot with even more intense swelling. This shoe keeps my foot nicely ensconced between the comfortable straps on top and the hard sole on bottom. Now my big toe won't be able to bend too far whenever a nighttime muscle spasm or twitch strikes.Other positives: it's very comfortable to wear while sleeping. I no longer have to deal with the weight of the heavy CAM boot putting strain on my foot while I'm trying to sleep with my leg elevated. It also gives me much more confidence wheeling myself around on the knee scooter knowing that if my foot should accidentally bump against anything, the sole of the shoe will take the brunt of it and not my toe. Another huge benefit is my leg is able to rest comfortably on the knee scooter without the long shaft of the CAM boot pressing uncomfortably against my shin.I'm trying to think of any real negatives worth mentioning but can't really come up with anything. I can't speak to its merits as a walking shoe as I haven't used it for this purpose. However, as a lightweight and comfortable shoe that provides stabilization and protection during recovery of a bunion surgery, it's definitely nice to have.

I was hesitant to purchase this as I was warned it was a frequently returned item. But I really needed something quickly so I figured I’d order it and hope for the best. I’m so happy with this post op shoe!My daughter’s big toe got bruised when something fell on it and she was starting school and the doctor recommend a post op boot/shoe to help keep her toe from bending to not cause her pain while she walks in school.She has been using this for one week and has not had any problems or complaints. It’s easy to adjust and easy to remove and put on without hurting her toe. The straps do expand if your child had wrapping or small cast around their foot. I would 100% recommend this if your child needs it.She is a size 13/1 shoe and this fit perfect as you can see in the pictures. I would only recommend this if your child has the same size foot. If they are not a 13/1 this is not the shoe for you.
