The boot was a bit too large. I wear a women’s 81/2-9 shoe and I ordered a medium. It was too big and wide but I was able to add padding to the sides. It is nice that you can use the Velcro to open from either the left or right side. It did the job for my broken toe and kept it protected. The boot was light weight and comfortable.

6th day of wearing this shoe after cheilectomy surgery. It is working out good. I purchased the M. I compared the Vive to one other similar product from Amazon. I went with the Vive because it felt more comfortable and it was long enough to extend over my toes to keep the weight of sheets/blankets at night. I have medium arches and often wear comfort shoes in the house. Right now I am wearing a shoe on the other foot to balance the height of the thick sole of the Vive. That thick sole makes it quite soft and comfortable. The velco to adjust around my toe area is generous for my medium width foot. The velcro at ankle needs to be trimmed with scissors to remove excess length. My foot length is is approx. 9.5".

UPDATE: Love it! Get this one!!! I have tried several other brands and had to return them. Some cheaper, some similar price. Had big problems with every one of them and this one if just about perfect! Don't fuss around with others like I did. This one is well made, quality, comfortable as it can be under the circumstances, and does the job. Wish I had gotten this one first. It is a bit wide. I am split between a regular and wide size so perhaps this is wider than usual. But I'm not in bandages anymore. If one is still wearing bandages the width would be good. When I do the top strap the part that says "Vive" the edge hits the ground a little. I don't care because it works and I'm not wearing it as a fashion statement. Don't shop around. It is just not worth the trouble and agony. Get this one!!! It's better than the first one the surgeon put on. did read sizing directions carefully and it is just too big. Really disappointing because it looks like a good boot. So I am returning this one and ordering a size smaller. I did not actually try on the one I got because I think that may void return policy. But I matched it up to the boot I am currently wearing (It's worn out) and this one is much bigger. Of note they are supposed to protrude enough to protect the toe. You don't want it to end at your toes like a normal shoe. Still too big, but the quality looked good enough that I am trying again. My 4 stars is based one perceived quality based on visual inspection. Will update my review after I receive replacement.

Hopefully most won't be in need of this item but following a rather unfortunate accident involving my hallux ( big toe) which was in incarcerated in plaster, this shoe proved a life saver. Even after plaster removal normal shoe wear was impossible for many weeks. Okay its not a fashion item but who cares when limping around. The straps are totally adjustable with Velcro. Fits snuggly and comfortably. Not suitable for driving though. Hopefully I will not be needing this again but it stays safely in the back of the wardrobe in case. Not just for silly accidents either, post operative foot surgery patients will benefit from this shoe. Well worth the price.

Bought for an elderly lady with badly swollen feet and is resident in a care home so not much walking involved. Only had for 2wks so cannot comment on durability. Some review(s) have indicated sole of the sandal can split but would depend on usage conditions. The lady has found it comfortable with the adjustable straps. The sizing was confusing but managed to get the right one first time. As the returns experience on this does not appear to look good on reviews.

After dislocating and breaking a couple toes and consequently being unable to walk without serious pain, I purchased this Vive walking shoe after a recommendation. I didn't hold much hope for it helping, but I was willing to try anything that would allow me to walk upstairs to my bathroom or go to the grocery store with less pain. Seriously, I had tears running down my face from pain when I went to the store before ordering this shoe, and it's not like I was wearing heels or some other ill-thought footwear when I went to pick up milk and fruit! I couldn't stand long enough to cook, really, or even get my mail from the mailbox during this time. Desperate for food a few days after breaking my toes I ordered a pizza. The kind delivery woman could see that I could barely stand to take the box and asked if I was okay, and I told her about my foot. She said "you should be wearing a boot!" I thanked her for the advice, and got on Amazon.com immediately after eating a few slices. Lots of boots to choose from on Amazon, in a wide array of price ranges. Since I had only broken a few toes, I decided a full boot was probably not necessary and narrowed it down to this Vive shoe and another, both of which had good reviews, and decided on the Vive.I purchased the Medium size which states in the description that it fits a US Women's shoe size of 8.5 to 10 I generally wear a US Women's size 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the shoe. As you can see from my uploaded image, the medium fits me just right with about 1/2 inches of room to spare for toe protection while wearing a pair of cushioned but not very thick socks. I recommend that if you wear a US Woman's size above 8 1/2 that you order a large. It may be a little big but you want to protect your toes - you wouldn't believe how many times I've inadvertently bumped my foot into things while going about my business, and this walking shoe saved me from both serious pain and perhaps further damaging my toes.I've only had this walking shoe for about 10 days and have worn it constantly when not sleeping or showering, and I'd wear it in the shower too if I had purchased two so that one would always be dry. It's pretty difficult to shower properly when one foot is basically unusable making one's balance unsteady!Since I had only ordered one shoe, I've been wearing a crocs on my other foot for balance although any shoe with a height of about 1 inch would work, or maybe even an athletic shoe. For me, my fuzz lined crocs shoe works because I can easily walk in them with socks and the height is right while also providing a similar sole feel as the Vive walking shoe. I haven't had any problems with the sole cracking as some reviews have stated, but I'm not really putting the shoe or my foot through the ringer. As I stated, it's been about 10 days of wearing it in the house, out for errands, walking the dog, and while working out daily. I'm super happy with this purchase, and if by some chance it does break before I'm healed I would just order another one at this price point. As some have noted, the straps are quite long. After wearing it for a while, I found a comfortable tightness and cut the straps accordingly. The two lower straps, the one over the toes and the one over the arch, have a piece of velcro that can be removed and replaced where needed. If I had one complaint it would be that the top strap closest to the ankle does not have this removable velcro. I've just been kind of tucking the excess under so that it doesn't snag on things.Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase. Great product!
