INSTALLATION
1. Turn off Ignition.
2. Keep your key fob (if applicable) at least 35 ft. (10m) away from your Lexus GX 460. This prevents your car from using power to transmit signals to your proximity key fob sensor.
3. Leave your driver’s door open for 15 minutes to allow your ECU to shut down completely.
4. Locate and disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug.
5. Plug in your Pedal Commander in line with your accelerator pedal assembly plug until you hear a “click.”
6. Make sure the cables are tucked in place so they do not interfere with your driving experience.
7. Place and mount the Pedal Commander to your desired location using the velcro and mounting bracket that's included in the box.
IMPORTANT
To avoid receiving check engine lights or other issues, it is important that you follow these instructions properly. Also, please ensure that you hear a “click” sound while connecting the plugs, as this signifies a secure connection.

I've been using the Pedal Commander on my 2018 GX460 for a few weeks now and I'm torn over it. Unquestionably, the throttle response is significantly improved, and even just in City +1 or +2 modes, you get a much punchier, less delayed response to throttle inputs, which is super helpful in merging and day-to-day urban and suburban driving situations. When the car is moving, the throttle response feels more linear, less laggy and more like I feel the car should have been from the factory.Starting from a stop though, is another story. I have yet to find a setting where the car has the responsiveness when moving but doesn't feel super jumpy when I tap the throttle from a stop. I thought maybe muscle memory would adjust after a few weeks and I'd figure out the right amount of pressure to use so I'm not throwing my family back in their seats from a stoplight, but it still happens and I cannot figure out if it's me or the unit. It seems very inconsistent and is frustrating to seem to others like you're trying to race them away from a stoplight when you've really just barely provided any throttle input. I have searched for a solution and can't find one and would love to keep this since it's so good once moving, but for a lot of stop-and-go-driving, it's really lurching and uneven, which detracts from the experience significantly.

The Pedal Commander works exactly as advertised. Installation was quick, easy and it has completely changed the character of my 2021 Lexus GX. It has transformed the acceleration from a slug to that of a sports car. This device does not actually add any power, but it remaps the accelerator programming so you don’t have to give it 1/2 throttle just to keep up with traffic. Surprisingly it has not negatively affected the mediocre fuel economy of this vehicle. The only negative is that the adhesive on the Velcro which sticks it to the lower portion of the dash is too weak to hold the control module in place. I had to use different double sided tape to get it to remain in place. While the Pedal Commander is a little pricey, I’m very satisfied and it has made my GX a pleasure to drive.

The title is basically it. Does it make your GX460 feel more responsive? Yep. What does it do? It tricks your GX into thinking you have the pedal pushed down further than it is. Basically, it makes your throttle more responsive. That is all it does. It does not increase your power. It does not alter the tune of your engine at all.Does the eco mode work? Nes. Yo? Sort of? Not really? But yes? It does the exact same thing as the other modes, but backwards. It dulls the throttle response. So it other words, you can have a lead foot and it just won't listen to you. So, your fuel economy will go up. For myself, I would just...you know...not hit the throttle as hard and achieve the same results. However, this would be fantastic for a dumb teenager. My car as a teenager obviously had a throttle cable because I'm old, but if my parents had installed something like this, I would have figured it out instantly. But, if your teen is not so smart, then you can probably make a car safer for them with this thing.It does make the a GX feel quite different. Once again, it's no faster. It's just...more willing to actually accept that you're hitting the throttle. My GX likes to just sit in a high gear forever, even after I floor it. With this, it's not so bad. That's nice, when I want to merge onto the interstate. This does give you the sensation of being faster, even though it isn't. If that's what you want, or you have a teenager with a lead foot, this could be worth it.

Glad I finally got one. I used to own a 4Runner for years and almost got one for it but never did. Bought a gx460 and felt the typical Toyota pedal lag. Bought the unit and driving is more fun again. No lag, very responsive 👍🏾

I installed this in a 2021 Lexus GX 460 and after 150 miles I can say it shifts like a passenger car and gets about 1.25 mpg improvement (Sport Mode). The throttle response is excellent and now this thing drives amazingly better. Installation 20 min, and the Bluetooth app for iPhone is flawless.
