Good:No frills multiport SATA controller. Been running 2 of these cards error free 24/7 for 3 weeks. They're fully populated with a total of 8 x SSDs in a rough TrueNAS Scale build while I mess around learning the features.Bad:Little to no documentation. There is a dip switch for 3 card modes (visible to BIOS for bootable drives etc). Tech savvy people will probably need no explanation of this feature. If you don't know what it does a quick Internet Search will bring up plenty of hits. It's a generic card with multiple rebrands so as long as the chipset is the same the functions will be too.To start you off this is what Copilot (AI) had to say:The SU-SA3004 SATA controller card has three modes that can be selected using the dip switch feature. Each mode serves a different purpose:AHCI Mode: This mode enables advanced features like hot-swapping and native command queuing, which can improve performance and compatibility with modern operating systems2.IDE Mode: This mode emulates the older IDE interface, which can be useful for compatibility with older operating systems or devices that do not support AHCI.Data Disk Mode: In this mode, the hard disk does not participate in the boot process, and the self-test interface can be turned off. This is useful for storage devices that are not used for booting the system1.

I'm not joking, I'm running both using this. I built a small form factor machine with a Proxmox base hosting a TrueNAS VM with this card passed through with SSDs plugged into it.The machine acts as both server and Windows desktop. As of writing it's been running for 60 days up time without a reboot. The next one of these I build will be running two virtual Windows desktops and a file server. How much can I pack into a SFF case?
