This 8 port SATA expansion PCIE card from Ybbott works great. The broadly supported ASM1064 chipset worked fine with my Ubuntu system. I don't quite have use for all 8 ports just yet, but I have options. This kit includes the card, outfitted with a full height PCIE slot cover. The Ybbott 8 port kit also provide a half-height slot cover, a 1 to 4 SATA Power splitter, and 8 SATA cables (latching, linear). A small CD driver disc is provided and it appears to have been created in mid 2023 for many different products from SATA controllers to USB add-on cards. I did notice none of the drivers provided appear to support windows 7 or 11 (also not appearing on the product listing) should you need to calibrate your expectations. That could be because many of the driver files seem to be from around 2020 or earlier.I added the card to my Ubuntu system with a few smaller (120-256 GB) SSDs and had transfer speeds around 200 MB/s. Some slowdown is to be expected from small SSDs but I expected a bit faster. It's possible this expansion card is more suited for mechanical hard drive use. I noticed the 8 activity LEDs lit only when a drive was connected and blinked indicating which of the 8 ports were actively transferring data. The heatsink is in contact with the most important chips on the card but it didn't even feel warm (or might require prolonged transfers). That is a big contrast to my SAS2008 HBA card which pretty much needs some active cooling on the heatsink.I was initially a little concerned about how little solder was visible in the vias for the SATA ports but every port worked just fine when I tested them so things worked out. The only other negative might be including a mini CD for drivers in 2025 and it being sort of odd to have only one SATA power expansion cable (supporting 4 drives) but 8 SATA data cables/ports.

If you’ve ever felt like your computer was missing that special something, like a ton of hard drives, then look no further! The PCIE SATA 10 Ports Card is here to save the day, and possibly your sanity.First off, let’s talk about the sheer number of ports. Ten. That’s right, ten! It’s like the card is saying, “Why stop at one or two when you can have a whole party?” I mean, who needs that many hard drives? Are you secretly running a data center out of your basement? No judgment here, just pure admiration.Installation was a breeze. Well, if by “breeze” you mean a hurricane of cables and a minor existential crisis about whether you really need this many SATA ports. But once you get past that, it’s smooth sailing. Just make sure you have a map handy to navigate the labyrinth of cables.Performance-wise, this card is a sloth. It’s like strapping glue to your data transfer speeds. Your files will be flying around faster than you can read aloud War and Peace. Just be prepared for your computer to start demanding more snacks to keep up with the workload.Compatibility? Oh, it’s got that covered. Windows 8, Windows 10, Ubuntu - it’s like the card is a social butterfly, mingling with all the operating systems at the party. Just don’t invite Windows XP; it’s still stuck in the early 2000s and doesn’t know how to handle all this modern technology. In conclusion, if you’re looking to turn your computer into a hard drive hoarder’s paradise, the PCIE SATA 10 Ports Card is your new best friend. Just be prepared for your computer to start asking for a raise - it’s going to be working overtime!

I used this in my HP Pavilion desktop to add another SATA disk drive. It was plug and play, no driver required (although one was provided).

I always worry that cheaper SATA controller cards will cause system corruption and so far this card is working decently. The card I received has only two SATA ports and they work to connect two more drives to a system that lacks more SATA ports natively. Highly recommend this!

This SATA 3.0 Controller Expansion Card is a fantastic solution for adding a bunch of extra SATA ports to your computer. I was able to easily install it in a PCIe x1 slot on my motherboard, and it was instantly recognized by Windows 11 without needing to install any drivers. The 8 additional ports provide ample connectivity for hard drives, SSDs, or optical drives. It's a great way to expand your storage capacity or add more devices to your system.
