Yes, it "says" drivers are included for W98SE (and why I bought this), but they aren't compatible with whatever chip this is. Spent two days all over the web and forums looking for solution to get it out of "compatibility mode" in 98 to no avail. Some folks say flash the BIOS with non-raid and I couldn't find a version that would work. Ended up buying sATA to parallel adapters. I might still try this card on XP SP3 with a separate drive as this is a dual boot 486, but not counting my chickens.

PATA drives are getting harder and harder to find. Installed this in a PC to be used as a fileserver, and it's easy enough to find large capacity SATA drives. Has on-board RAID via a BIOS extension, but haven't tested that. Kernel module sata_sil

I used this in a windows 98 se build to speed up the system using an 128 gig ssd.Bus Speeds are so called rated at 1.5 gb/sec and I got nothing close to it, but is way faster than IdE ribbon and a nice system boost

none of the Raid drivers work with this card even doing Google searches out of the box. I recommend finding a Non-raid Bios and user Driver for Sii3114 drivers v1205 and Bios version for Sii3114 Version 5.5 and you be good to go. The Raid Drivers do not work unless you are using Windows 2000 SP4 or higher.

Ohne funktionierende CD kann ich den Adapter nicht einsetzen. Die CD ist nicht lesbar. Der Lieferant ist (noch) nicht in der Lage, mir eine Ersatz-CD zu senden oder einen Link zu dem CD-Image oder einem Softwareverzeichnis im Internet. Schade schade.

Easy install PCI slot. Windows found drivers online. Old MB's SATA ports or controller were crapping out. Old computer now back to life! Inexpensive fix. I'm not using Raid, just needed working SATA ports. Did the job.
