I use this for degassing resin castings. The chamber seals well and is easy to connect to a vacuum pump. The pressure gauge is accurate and easy to read. The chamber is easy to clean is resins boil over while degassing.Durably made, this chamber will last several lifetimes.

the connector is a "brass" type" 1/4" which is not 1/4NPT, it is ridgedly connected to a barbed fitting on the hose, so if I want to screw the fitting I must turn the whole lid. That is stupid, you risk cracking the glass lid.

I got this for my resin crafting and finally got a chance to test it out this past week. It works great! (Side note - this is my second Vacuum chamber - so I already had everything else to make it work.)

I have a small, clear, demonstration vacuum chamber that's really nice to use when monitoring small-scale experiments, but it's less useful when I need to degas or dehydrate larger batches (I typically use my vacuum for soil science experiments). This review is mostly from my first impressions; if anything changes after using it for a while I will update, but so far I am very impressed. This chamber comes partially disassembled, but you basically just need to slip a silicone sleeve on the pot, attach the valve/gauge assembly, and connect the vacuum hose. I hooked this up to my two-stage pump, and was able to pull a very good vacuum first time (to the limit of the gauge, or -30 Hg). I sealed it off and let it sit for a few hours, and it had no problem maintaining the vacuum. I've cycled it a few times since then, and it's held vacuum every time. The chamber is nice and large - probably larger than I need right now, but it's great not to be limited by too little space. The large clear lid makes it easy to keep tabs on your material. I do wish it came with a more sensitive gauge, but of course those are expensive, so I understand the decision (and you can always replace the gauge later). Overall, I'm really happy with this!

This is a great-sized vacuum chamber, similar to a slightly shorter and wider 5-gallon bucket. The seals are highly effective, and the glass lid is impressive. While the glass means you can’t easily drill for probes or other devices, it’s much more durable and scratch-resistant compared to acrylic lids. The gauge works well, and it holds a strong vacuum. I also appreciate the plastic-covered handles and the included silicone pad for the bottom of the chamber. Overall, it's a solid choice, and I highly recommend it.

Got to remove bubbles for a perfect cast of resin and this is great. I already have a vacuum motor and this finishes off my needs. No more bubbles in the resin and I can use faster setting resins now that this removes bubbles in a short amount of time. Happy customer here. :D

Everything about this just yells quality to you. From the thick tempered glass lid to the heft of the stainless steel pot, you feel like this thing can take any abuse you throw at it. Aside from the vacuum pump itself, this comes with essentially everything you would need. Got this for resin casting.

Only complaint is that the hardware mounts to the lid with silicone gaskets in between, so it will always flex and move a bit. I'd prefer the lid was properly setup to thread parts into it, but at this price I can't complain too much. The included hose is VERY short, so unless you plan to keep the lid constantly and immediately adjacent to the pot (like, hold it in one hand while loading stuff in with the other) I suggest getting different tubing. You'll also need some of your own hardware to connect to a vacuum pump.

This PB Motor Tech vacuum chamber is a valuable tool for anyone working with resin casting, silicone degassing, or wood stabilization. The 5-gallon capacity provides ample space for various projects, and the stainless steel construction is durable and easy to clean. The tempered glass lid allows for clear observation of the degassing process. While the included gauge could be more precise, the overall performance and build quality of this vacuum chamber are excellent. It's a worthwhile investment for hobbyists and professionals alike.

I’ve been dabbling in epoxy projects for a while, but until now, I’ve managed to avoid those fancy tools—like a vacuum chamber. Well, after my last batch of coasters looked more like a carbonated soda than smooth art, I knew it was time to upgrade. This 5-gallon chamber have been a welcome and long overdue addition.Out of the box, I could tell it was solidly built, and the tempered glass lid is perfect for keeping an eye on the bubbles disappearing. The assembly was straightforward—no head-scratching moments or missing parts. I hooked it up to my vacuum pump, flipped the switch, and just watched in awe as my epoxy mix went from a bubbly mess to perfectly smooth. I might have done a little victory dance in my garage. (My neighbor probably thinks I’ve lost it, but hey, I’m just thrilled about finally getting those crystal-clear finishes!)One word of advice—don’t make the same mistake I did and absentmindedly turn the valve the wrong way while distracted. Let’s just say I got a very impromptu lesson in pressure release, which involved epoxy splatter and a mild panic. But after that one mishap, it’s been smooth sailing.Without a doubt, this takes your resin game up a notch, so I feel it is really worth every penny. TBH, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. No more warm water baths or endless torching hoping those stubborn bubbles will “just pop” on their own. Highly recommend it for any resin artist tired of fighting imperfections and looking for a more professional finish.
