We have a few different sizes and brands of vacuum chambers in our classroom. This one from PB Motor Tech, compared to the others, is a well made quality product. The double seal works well. We've had no issues with the gauges, but over time, they do seem to lose pressure through leakage more than others. They still function well. I do like that the chmber is lighter weight than others.

great for degassing silicone and epoxy. i recommend at least a 3.5cfm vacuum pump. i have a 3.5 and this size vacuum chamber is a little big for it but, just takes longer to get to full vacuum, which if you're working with time sensitive items, could cause issues, but its at no fault of the vacuum chamber. The top is glass, and seem to be very strong and is very clear so you can see what's going on inside. i rest my flashlight on top to get a good view.Comes with everything you need including tools which is great since i don't have to have my good tool set laying out all the time just to tighten a couple things all the time.i tried to build my own before buying this, and the supplies alone would have been 4 times the price and would not have looked as good.

I have a couple of these in various sizes for degassing resin castings. The chamber seals nice and tight and is easy to connect to a vacuum pump.I found the pressure gauge to be accurate and easy to read. The chamber is easy to clean out if there are spills.I expect this chamber to last for many decades of use.

Fonctionne à merveille parcontre les collets sont trop base qualité, l'un d'eux c'est brisé au premier usage. À part ça bonne qualité/ prix.

I make small resin projects so I just wanted a small vacuum chamber. This is perfect. 3 gallons is all I needed. It’s small, yet big enough to put several pieces in. The device is sturdy and works well so far. You do have to put it together, but that was easy to do. So far, I really like it!

I could tell this was well-built the moment I took it out of the box.It seems like it will hold up well over time, if not I'll be back to update my review!

This is such a convenient vacuum chamber for home tinkerers. 3G is a perfect volume for personal use, but may not be large enough for DIY'ers. For me as a home hobbiest chemist, it's exactly what I have been looking for small scale reactions.First, let's talk about the composition. It has a tempered glass top which I sincerely appreciate. I'm happy it wasn't a cheap product with an acrylic top. The chamber of volume itself is stainless steel, allowing for a range of applications... Including chamber heating. I don't have a need for that, but I appreciate it is possible.Next, let's talk about the regulator and seal. The quality of the seal is solid and easy to maintain. The chamber relies on a rubber interface that looks easily replaceable. The regulator is also functionally solid with extremely easy to use and dependable valves. It's a solid vacuum chamber that I would recommend to anyone that has a similar need as mine. The only critique I have is that I wish the regulator had a swappable barbed input so that I could use a diaphragm vacuum pump instead of needing an oil vacuum pump, just for my own convenience to be able to run this indoors without worry about the exhaust. It's a small critique for a extremely well made and generally convenient vacuum chamber!

I think this is a great starter kit, as long as you pull continuous vacuum. When I close down the valves, over several hours, the vacuum is slowly lost. It's not a deal breaker, but I think there has to be more careful design of the fittings and sealing surfaces to prevent vacuum loss.

This is a fairly simple piece of equipment. The degassing chamber essentially allows you to remove the bubbles from resin work making your sculptures and projects flawless. The chamber will remove dissolved gasses from any liquid, particularlyviscous ones but I mainly use it for epoxy resins and I believe that is what most people use the smaller units for.Good chamber for the price but it would be better to buy a complete kit in my opinionUntil We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken

This vacuum chamber is well built and a great all in one system for your vacuum chamber needs. Unfortunately my vacuum pump is out of commission at the moment so I can't test it as thoroughly as I'd like, but it does seem to hold a seal with a hand pump and the quality of the components are obvious and undeniable. The glass lid is nice and thick and the gaskets do their job. The gauge and valves are pretty standard and function as intended. Great product!

If you're making a seven-foot river table and need a large amount of degassed epoxy, this probably isn't the vacuum chamber for you, but it should be the ideal size for many hobbyists using smaller volumes of resin materials. And as for what constitutes “smaller”, let's say in the neighbourhood of one to one-&-a-half litres (or up to a quart-&-a-half), contained in a two-litre (two quart) mixing cup, a size which'll be easy to put in (and remove) from the steel chamber. You don't want to fill the cup right up because it'll overflow when degassing under pressure, leaving you an ugly mess in the chamber. So if you leave the mixing cup roughly half to a quarter empty, this should be enough space for the material to rise during degassing but not spill over. The rubber seals on the lid and chamber edge are really good, they're very pliant and hold tightly when pressurized. The gauge, fittings and hose all appear to be of decent quality. Actually kinda impressed that this set contains everything you need (minus the compressor) for degassing, you don't need to run off to the big-box hardware store to get a hose clamp, it's all here & ready to go.
