Very thin material that shipped with a hairline crack. For the price, you'd think it would have been thicker. I can't even compared to all my other vacuum jars that were made in the 80's and 90's.I returned it as soon as I noticed the hairline crack and I'm still shopping for a new one.

Of all the affordable vacuum chambers available this unit had the least number of negative reviews. So I bought it. The unit holds vacuum well. I did install a vacuum gauge on the handle at the top, and there is no perceptible loss of vacuum over a four hour period. I did find though, that the included valve will leak a bit if the nut on the shaft loosens up. It it on the bottom of the valve, and is the third red piece of plastic in the photo.Others commented that the O ring was a bit too small and would not stay in the groove. It has only popped out once for me, and it goes back in easily. I suspect that it has to be a little small for the groove so that when the cover is under vacuum it has room for expansion. Some people commented that it would not hold vacuum. Perhaps the nut on their valve is loose or they have leaks elsewhere.Overall, I am pleased with the unit and have no complaints or concerns. For those of you who want to add a gauge, order the "Winters PEM Series Steel Dual Scale Economy Pressure Gauge, 30 "HG" right here on amazon. I think the gauge and shipping was $12 or so, Same price as Chinese but made here! Take the gauge down to the hardware store and buy a brass fitting that fits the gauge and converts it to a hose barb. Buy a little bit of thread sealing tape. Then carefully drill a hole in the top center of the vacuum chambers handle, just big enough for the barb. Push the hose barb into the hole, level the gauge, and dab a little epoxy around where the brass fitting touches the vacuum chamber dome. Without a gauge this gets four stars. Add a gauge and give yourself a star!

The unit in self works well, but the plastic hose connectors failed with in a few hours or pressure. I would recommend getting some copper connectors

Works well for purging BHO with my JB platinum 200N 7cfm vacuum pump. Ususally takes 3-6 hrs to compete a purge run. Not a bad product, just wish it held vacuum a little better. I also feel that the push on valve is a source of vacuum leaks.Within 1 year it will only hold vacuum for appx 15 minutes after pump is shut off. Once valve is turned off my pump stops moving air & Pulls much harder vacuum.. IE this thing leaks like a seive. Do yourself a favor and go with something better.

excellent quality, good and timely service, kind of expensive, but it does serve my intended purpose quite well, and nobody held a gun to my head to make me buy it.

This is the perfect size for what I need it for... the valve does seem a little flimsy, but it hasn't broken yet so no complaints!!

I bought this bell jar to pull the bubbles out of a pouring-type of two-part RTV. It works just fine for that. The plastic valve is a bit on the flimsy side, but it ultimately wasn't a problem. If I used this regularly, that valve would probably be the first thing to fail. The port on the polycarb dome isn't reinforced and might become a likely spot for cracks to form.I can't argue with the value provided. It does the job, for not much money.
