This is a great vacuum pot and it works very well, that being said, thank goodness for YouTube because it is totally lacking any kind of helpful instructions! If you don’t know how to set it up or use you will need to search somewhere else for help! It does a great job of degassing resin in a short amount of time (5 minutes for 8 oz.) Just remember to always check the glass eye and make sure you keep plenty of oil in it. You can buy an extra bottle to keep on hand. It does smoke a little when it first starts up but only for a few seconds. It is a really good price for anyone interested in this type of vacuum chamber. Recommended.

Being a newbie, this worked well for me. Had to watch an alternate video that helped!

This is one of the worst purchases I've made through Amazon. I haven't even had a chance to try it and I'm considering returning it. Why? Let's start with the order. I was given someone else's tracking number through Amazon, which shows my package delivered clear across the country 4 days before it's actual arrival. Either hardware is missing to attach the pressure gauge or it is assembled by the manufacturer incorrectly. Using the supplied hardware left a loose and clearly unsealed gauge. The gauge itself is low on oil, not something that should happen on a new product. There are no instructions, which isn't too bad if you know what you're doing. This product is NOT fully assembled upon receipt. The buyer must complete assembly. This will require a wrench or pliers, as well as a smaller than normal (for most home warriors) Phillips head screwdriver. But that's not why I give it one star. It gets one star for the factory or seller or whoever not completely tightening the oil cap on the pump. At some point the device was allowed to leak, which had completely covered the pump in oil and nearly emptied the internal reservoir. No additional pump oil is provided, and since this is an electrical device I don't believe it safe to use any longer. From the looks of the reviews, it's a dice roll if you'll get a quality seller or some dweeb with an email account. Tldr? Don't buy.

For my order, the chamber pot (hah) and the vacuum pump shipped from different locations and arrived a few days apart. This was a little concerning since I only received the first tracking number from Amazon, and was unaware that there was another package. Once the first one was delivered, my order was marked as delivered and closed. This required an email to the seller to determine what was happening. Fortunately they responded within about a day to respond, and provided the other tracking number. The box for the vacuum chamber was damaged and the pot was showing through the holes in the box upon delivery. This was a little concerning because—if you’ve ever worked with vacuum systems—dents and cracks are a very bad thing. With that in mind, there was surprisingly little protection for the pot. However, both the pot and acrylic lid were in good condition and I have put it through around 5 cycles with no issues so far. Hopefully it will not have a catastrophic failure during use later on.The pump was in good condition with good packaging. It is a good size for desktop use. Documentation in the form of a small booklet was basic enough to read quickly but thorough enough to give proper guidance on its use.Assembly of the chamber was easy enough, although there was no documentation at all. The gauge was already assembled. I just needed to attach the ends of the provided vacuum hose to the correct locations on the gauge and pump, and then install the gauge onto the pre drilled hole in the acrylic. Make sure your rubber gasket and washers are in the correct spot and a light tightening for a snug fit is all that was needed for the gauge onto the lid. Don’t gronk down on the nut or you risk cracking the acrylic (see catastrophic failure). Also make sure you have an o-ring in your hose connections.Usage has been a breeze. It pulls a vacuum quick enough. Not a perfect vacuum but enough for my purposes. Mine got to around -28 inHg during use. Just follow the guidance for the pump and whatever you’re using it for.Recap: there were some concerns for the delivery process with the order, as well as shipping packaging and lack of documentation for the chamber and gauge. If you’re not new to using such things, then you won’t miss the documentation. Otherwise you may be a little concerned that you’re doing it right. Just be careful with the chamber and lid during use and storage. Inspect the gauge, lid, and pot before using it each time to make sure they’re in good order.I hope you have found this long review to be useful.
