I would give this product five stars if you could order a replacement pad separately. The weak link is the cord from the pad. It is very easy to damage the cord or break the plug at the end of the cord. When that happens, you have to order another complete unit. As a result, I have a drawer full of perfectly good monitor/alarm units from ordering new ones because the cord broke. Please offer a replacement pad/cord separately!!

Exactly what we needed for my elderly mother with dementia. Easy to hear, can switch between alarm sound and song (much less annoying than alarm sound lol) Easy to move around to different places

I take care of my elderly mom who has dementia and has had a few falls resulting in broken bones. She has a walker but often won’t use it unless told to. She is sneaky. She has radar that seems to know the moment I am distracted or occupied and is very stealthy, and will be up and gone before I know it. This device is what I needed. It alerts me immediately when she is starting to try to stand, and I can check on her or remind her to use her walker. This has made my life so much easier where I can actually do tasks and not have to sit right next her or very close by. As an added bonus it seems to be providing a form of Operant Conditioning, where due to the alarm, she is learning that trying to secretly stand will draw attention to her.I don’t know why people are commenting that the sound is to soft. It is LOUD! I can hear it through multiple doors if she is in her room and I am in mine. The kids can hear it from upstairs.I saw people complaining that they have to replace it after a year. Everything has wear and tear and a life expectancy. I’m glad they tell us up front the useful life expectancy. At the cost I paid it averages to about $3.33 a month or 11 cents a day. That is well worth the safety and piece of mind, and reduction in my daily stress! It’s well worth it. I actually purchased 2 so that I could keep one in her geriatric reclining chair and one in her chair she sits in.
