I would recommend wrapping the cord in a kind of electrical tape or something to protect it beforehand. Although my birds absolutely enjoyed this bath, they were dead set on trying to chew the electrical wire up.

Ok, listen. I'm not new here, I was aware that a shower for my green cheeks was not going to be a tidy endeavor. I wasn't prepared for it to be quite this messy without their help. I unboxed and assembled it for the first time after I distracted them with snacks in another room because they will come swooping in at the sound of running water otherwise, but it turned out to only take about a minute to assemble, fill, and plug in (it does not have a wall adapter, only a USB plug so if you don't have USB wall outlets you'll need a brick). I let it run for a minute or two on the counter and just that fast there was drizzle at least a foot out in every direction without a bird ever touching it. Definitely something to keep in mind when you're deciding where to put this for your birbs to enjoy. I'm thinking I'll use a stone bath- or dish drying mat under it to manage the worst of the splash zone because once these two get comfortable with it they're going to make a little birdie waterpark out of the kitchen (by minute three of testing they had abandoned their snacks and come to investigate the new running water sound, so I don't expect this will take long). This is a recommend from me based on ease of assembly and use, and the birb fun factor.

This bird bath is BIG and works perfectly. It is 100% exactly as it is advertised. It is big, and my birds LOVE it! Recommend 5 stars! But be mindful of these two things:One: Like so many things on Amazon recently, it uses a USB plugin block (that cube that all the USB things use to plug into the wall) but it does not come with one. So you're going to have to swap out your phone or whatever else is using the USB power block currently, to use this. Also, none of the images show this, but the power cord has to run from the pump unit underneath to outside the bath device, so you're going to have to route it up through the hole that the shower unit occupies. So there will be a power cord running up out of the base, next to the shower unit. Two: it splatters/sprinkles in a fairly big radius. I put it on my kitchen table, and it splattered the whole table and the floor, too. This is not a negative: of course you want it to distribute water so your birds get a good bath! But just be aware, you can't just sit this anywhere and forget it. Wherever you run this thing, you're going to have water sprinkles in a wide radius. Plan ahead! I put a beach towel under mine. I'll update with photos of my birds in it when I can.

This is very messy and not well designed. It did work, but I can't use it the way it is. It should have been designed to have high sides around it or to be an enclosed bin area... something to prevent mess and splashing from the water falling as well as the birds playing in it. There should have been a large enough hole in the top slotted platform lid for the cord to have a place to come through, because otherwise there is no place (which is really stupid) and the cord comes from under the lid pushing the lid up which prevents the lid from settling down completely. I drilled my own holes into the top to fix this problem.I really think the water force level should be adjustable so you can control whether it comes out weakly (great for more timid birds) or strongly. I also wish there had been an attachment for a mist like (atomized) head attachment too so you could pick from either a shower head or a misting atomizing head, because the shower head is removable.

I'm pleased with this bird bath and shower! The pump works flawlessly, and my two budgies love the gentle shower. To manage the splashing, I placed the bird bath in a litter box with medium-high walls, but found that some water still splashed out. To solve this, I added two large, stiff plastic sheets (like those used for quilting patterns) along the inside walls of the litter box, extending higher than the litter box walls. This effectively contained the splashes. For optimal safety, I ran the cord far away from the bird bath, elevated the plug, and used an extension cord on a flat surface. If I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to use a high-walled tub or litter box to eliminate the splashing issue.Overall, with proper setup, this bird bath and shower is a wonderful addition to my home. My birds adore it, and I love watching them enjoy it. If you're looking for a fun and functional bird bath, I recommend this one – just be aware of the potential splashing issue and plan accordingly.

- doesn't come with electric wall plug, so you need to provide your own outlet cube to connect the usb cable- there is no on/off switch, so to turn it on/off, you have plug in or unplug it from the wall each time- the white "shower head" part barely connects to the clear tube and it will randomly rotate, spilling water everywhere- there's no ridge for the cable to go from the pump to the outside; it's missing in the pics because it's poorly designed; you can either have the plastic cover lifted on one side or push the cable through the hole for the tube, but that also tilts the tube- the pump doesn't have any kind of filter to protect it from debri- the clear tube that connects the "shower head" and the pump is difficult to connect to and disconnect from the pumpBecause of the flimsy connections and lack of on/off switch, I'm uncomfortable using this. I'm giving 2 stars because the pump work and the basin doesn't leak. But can't give more because although technically it works, multiple parts don't even fit together well or at all. It's a fantastic idea however, and now that I've come across this, I'll look for a better built solution.
