I'm brand new to pan pastels and love them so far. I'm a watercolorist and I have used these to cover up some things I couldn't fix in watercolors. There is a wide range of colors so you can make many colors from this set. I ordered the colorless blender from PanPastel and that works great too. Would be awesome to include with this set. The price seemed just right. The set included some Sofft tools which was nice to try out. Extra lids would be great as I might want to separate them some time but no biggie. Overall, a nice set to get started with.

Highly recommend. Arrived safely without damage for those who aren’t familiar with how these come, they are stacked together and there is just one lid covering the top color. I would recommend that you get the tray that holds 10 or 20 depending on your needs so that you don’t need individual lids. The way it is made to store makes it easy to travel with and takes up less space but if you get one of the storage trays, it is like having a pallet of them and you can leave them separate but covered. Also comes with several tools inside , and with practice, you can blend and combine to make many other colors with this set

Pan-pastels have become my new favourite art medium! I am still learning how to use and blend them properly, but I love the way they go on the page. The colours are very rich and don't smudge or transfer especially after leaving them to "cure" for a couple of days. Pricey? A bit, but I've tried other similar products and they don't work as well.

I can recommend these Pan pastels highly...Rich vibrant colors with a velvety smooth consistency. If you are a Pastel Artist these are a must have. The only drawback as far as I am concerned is the stacking system they use. The bottom of one Pastel is the top of the other, making picking out the color you want a bit of a bother. Each Pan pastel really should have its own lid. Yes, you can purchase them separately but you really shouldn't have to do that...

I absolutely love these paints !!! I am brand new to sculpting and very prematurely bought tons of acrylic paint and never could paint my sculpts with it. It just never had the look I wanted. I was introduced to pans and the rest is history! I will never paint my clay with anything else. The price is kinda high but the way I look at it I am paying for a outstanding product that does a absolutely gorgeous job. I will buy more colors as long as I need them. I like to use eye shadows brushes to apply to my clay before it’s baked . It goes on to wet clay like a dream. I love pan pastels so much I would wear a t shirt that says absolutely that.

I watched several videos on pan pastels before I bought these and they are as advertized. The colors are beautiful, they go on smoothly, blend easily and you can make corrections easily by just erasing. Great product!

These are cleaner to use that stick or crayon shape. Rich in color. I am currently using them for gelli plate printing.These "pans" are threaded to each other helping to keep everything together when stored. Unfortunately, the bottom two cakes, black and white, were completely broken. This unit was likely dropped before or during transit. I will not buy these on line in the future as they can be easily damaged

After watching Jason Morgan Wildlife Artist, Kirsty Rebecca Art, and Lisa Lachri Fine Art I had to get these pastels! I saw this price, better than all my "go to" art suppliers, but worried (from other reviews and photos) that they would come broken. So excited to receive these in perfect condition! Love the stackable plastic pans, what a space saver! It came with some Sofft tools, although, I will have to buy some of the light blue handles for some of them. Really happy with this purchase!!!

I bought these for an online class and I needed them right away. These came so fast and nicely packaged. None were broken and along with the Pan Pastels comes two containers of sponges and sponge tips. The best part is opening all the containers and observing the lovely professional, saturated colors! Yum, yummy! When you open the interestingly designed container and check out the colors it gives you a bit of a delight. I'm thinking for most applications you have a complete set of quality artist materials allowing you to blend and mix to create most if not all colors. I've been painting with pastels for several years and have wondered about using Pan Pastels. Right now I'm wondering why I waited so long.
