Recently got into paddle boarding, this is the 3rd paddle I tried on Amazon. By far this one is the best quality. It's light weight, the powder coating aluminum has a sharp quality look (more exciting than just black), the components for connecting the different pieces are stronger durable plastic than the other ones I tried. The tilted fin makes a difference for stroking. Super happy with the price and quality here. Of the convertible paddles (single/double option), this is the best one I tried. Also double option is a must for when you switch to sitting/knees/standing positions, can keep the extra piece on the board as needed.

On the second day using this, my kid dropped this from the paddle board. It sank like a stone. Luckily it was close to shore so we found it, but I didn't expect a paddle to sink. It's too bad, because the locking mechanism works very well to hold the paddle's height.

Easily converts from a SUP paddle to a double-ended kayak paddle. This is exactly what I was looking for with my SUP - I have a kayak seat that straps onto the SUP and so for days when I am in Kayak mode, I wanted a kayak paddle, and this one is perfect for that. It is lightweight, well-made, durable. It is easy to pop in the kayak blades or swap them out for the SUP handle. Overall I have no complaints, I've used this paddle several times already and it has worked great.

This paddle has two orr ends so it can be configured for using with a kayak or a stand up paddle board. It has adjustable heights and height markings are on the paddle. It can be used as two separate paddles, if needed, if you are sharing the paddle board together with someone. The orrs are very sturdy, with a curve molded into it for more water pushing power. The poles are light weight aluminum and the orrs are made out of fiberglass. The whole paddle is suposed to float if dropped into the water.

As an avid inflatable stand up paddle board enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for affordable, durable, modern and attractive gear for use on the water. This double-bladed kayak paddle with handle by iTAOSTAR, checks off all the boxes for me.Pros:Thick, easy-to-grip shaftFloatsAffordable, other than Close-Outs, about as cheap as you’ll findEasy to useAttractiveUnique concave and ridged blade surfaceModern features/appearanceDurableImpact and scratch resistant bladesShort pieces for easy transportQuick-release buttonCons:“Fiber graphic” surface may need a tad more maintenanceNo anti-drip notch on bladesNo drip ringsRound vs. ovalized shaftsNo angle adjustmentAnodized surface will show scratches over timeIt is way too cold to go out on a lake now, even though I have a wetsuit, so I will just have to wait for the weather to warm up again. When it does, I look forward to giving this single blade/double blade paddle a thorough test.I’ve spent lots of hours paddling mostly on lakes, but also on the ocean and currently have a bunch of paddles and several inflatable SUPs, an iKayak and an iBoat. This baseline of experience has helped to inform me so that I now know what I like and don’t like in a paddle, what works and what doesn’t.The materials used in this paddle seem quite good, about average for the cost and should last for years. The weak point in this common type of shaft tensioning system is the cam-type lever, which is made of plastic. I’ve had them break in the past. I wish they were metal. The glass fiber-reinforced, PP (polypropylene)-coated blades look amazing and have a faux carbon fiber relief throughout. Cool! The blades and shafts are average size, fairly lightweight and seem really tough. The curve of the blade is different from some of my other blades, but since this hasn’t been tested in the water, I can’t report on the efficiency of the blade. I also don’t know how well the etched surface will attract scum, mud and debris that paddles encounter, making cleaning more frequent. Not a dealbreaker though. I like the look. The wide, easy-to-grip shaft allows hours of paddling without fatigue, although I’d prefer an ovalized shaft, and the ergonomic grip of the handle makes paddling comfortable while standing. It’s a good set-up for beginners and intermediates and I recommend it. The shorter, disassembled length is ideal for packing inside a standard iSUP back pack.I opted for the 4 piece paddle, as I’ve found it best fits my needs on the lakes I frequent. Kayak style when the mood suits me to just take it easy or when the wind makes standing with a single blade difficult or impossible. My paddle came with a shiny, electric blue anodized finish which the maker claims resists corrosion and offers incremental, numbered markings so you can quickly re-locate the optimum custom paddle length, if you’ve made a recent switch from double to single blade. Most makers suggest a handle height of 6” greater than your height. This is a really good value for what you get. Expect to pay more at some sporting goods outlets for a similar 4 piece paddle, but be sure to compare apples to apples, including the materials used. Just know that lighter paddles usually do cost more.It seems well made and durable and the maker offers a 6 month warranty. Some offer a year. Fit and finish are quite good for a paddle at this price point and you won’t be disappointed.RecommendedUPDATE 11/18/23I took advantage of some nice weather to get out on a local lake and try out this single/double paddle for a short test.It works great! Surprising easy to use and felt balanced in my hands. I like it and I think others will too. The transition from single to double and back again to single, was smooth and easy. No surprises. Works as expected.

I really like this paddle. It is very easy to change from Paddleboard to Kayak and back. There are adjustable quick-connects so you can adjust how tightly the inner piece is grabbed by the outer piece. I like the adjustable length of the paddle as we have less than 10 year olds to 6' 4" adults using our board and we can quickly change the length of the paddle. The connections are solid and the metal is strong. I only have 2 suggestions: 1. The parts where you hold on could be less smooth and more sandpapery to help prevent slipping (This applies to use as kayak paddle). 2. Serious kayakers (not us) like to rotate the paddles as they stroke to keep the out of the water paddle horizontal to lessen wind resistance. You can do this with this setup but you lose the added security of the button holding the pieces together. Adding a couple more button holes would solve this problem. If you're serious you could do it yourself but it would be better if the manufacturer did it. All in all I look forward to getting a great deal of use out of this combo paddle.
