This ruler is good for most tasks but precision metalwork. As you can see on pictures - it is about 0.3 -0.5 mm off(longer). Does it really matter about 1/64 - 1/128 inches off?Yes, edges are kind of sharp. It will take couple of minutes of gentle file work to take care of hangnail. It is not stainless steel. But you know that stainless steel do not hard enough for measurement tool.It is about 1.6 - 1.7 mm thick. So it is pretty sturdy.Make it short - it is value for money. Do not flatter yourself to buy dollar for a penny.

I watch America’s Test Kitchen a lot and they’re always using a ruler like to measure everything. I’m a precise kind of person and I just had to have one of these and I use it all the time. Before I’d pull out my tape measure or my automatic one I use for house projects but now I feel like a pro (and I am pretty bad a**) and I now have everything in my kitchen.

I know it's "only" a ruler but this one is made from thick steel for maximum durability with excellent markings. Much better than the cheap ones you see at Target or Office Depot. You get what you pay for.

Did not use my calipers on it but I would say it is more than a 1/16 & less than 1/8, so 3/32 or so. Nice rule. I would have given 5 stars if it would have been packaged in such a way to protect. Sure shippers should know that the mail service is like a war zone. It arrived bent in several places. I draft projects with these so it is frustrating if I have to hold it down straight. I was able to get it fairly straight. It was simply in a bag, completely unprotected. Great product but poor packaging. It needed to be in a hard cardboard tube. I realize that would drive the price up some. I for one don't mind paying more for a quality product. It's frustrating to wait for something then it's damaged when it gets here. I could have sent it back, but I needed this now. Truly great product but I would not recommend based on the lack of protection.

Love this when I'm baking. It helps me roll out dough to the right size. Also helps when I'm cutting items to make sure they are all uniform in size. It's a great length.

It sounds silly, but I looked for a long time online to find this ruler- a friend of mine had one very similar (hers was just thinner metal), and I was trying to find one like it. What I like about it is that the font and coloring make the numbers very easy/clear to read, it has imperial and metric, and it is just metal, no cork backing. I saw some other reviews mention that it's sharp- it is a little bit sharp but not where I have to be overly careful- just don't go around making slicing motions with it. It has some decent weight for being just a flat piece of metal. The hardest thing is to pick it up from a table because it's so flat, I just push it off the table to pick it up. I like its design though and would not change anything about it.
