Recently I've been organizing my garage and I wanted to maximize my storage space. When I saw these, I thought they'd be perfect because I wanted to use my overhead storage space but also wanted an easy way to access the storage when I needed to.It took me under ten minutes, probably closer to 5 minutes to find the studs in my ceiling and unbox these and get them set up and functioning, so these are very quick to install!This is the best of both worlds. It keeps your stuff up overhead and out of sight when it is not needed but it is simple to slide out the storage bin and take it down whenever you need to get into it.It comes with railings that have two empty compartments that are sized perfectly for most standard sized lids. My bins are 16" deep by 18 and 3/4ths Wide by 19 and 3/8ths high. You simply screw these to your ceiling (into the ceiling studs so you need to find those first) at the correct distance from each other to fit the lid of your storage bin. Then you put your lid on your packed storage bin and slide the lid into the empty spaces and it holds your storage bin up and out of your way until you need it!These are awesome because they work for many sizes of storage bins. You can adjust the distance between each railing to match whatever the size storage bin you have. The empty spaces lead enough room for many sizes of lids, too and hold them securely. Not sure what the weight limit is on these, but I tested them with one full bin that weighed about 28 lbs and that was a breeze for these. These mount to 7.8" through 15.4" ceiling joists. Another cool thing that sets these apart is that each rail has two sides so instead of needing to mount one railing for each side of a bin's lid, you only need to mount one for two bin lids on each side of the railing, which maximizes your cupeling space and reduces clutter so it looks cleaner.I love these things! They are well made out of strong steel and look great. Such a great idea too, to convert wasted space to usable storage! I just wish I'd found them sooner and now I want a few more!

I love these rails so much. I am not a huge fan for using them for permanent storage, because it is a bit difficult to get to them, but to temporarily get storage crates out of the way and move them up to the ceiling, this is brilliant. I so often run into the situation that I have a bunch of car parts or pieces of a project laying around that I just need to be out of my way for a couple of days, and all I do Is put them in folding crates and slide them in there off the ground. Five stars from me!

These work great! However our rafters are 24 inches apart and these are only 16in. Since we got these on sale we decided to still use them. So in order for it to work we attached 2x3s to the studs and then these brackets.

The trick to using these is to mount the rails perpendicular to the rafters, nit aligned with them. The trick is, because they're only 16.5" long, this may or may not work for you. Short of doing that, you'll need to mount them on the rafter itself, and then find containers of the same width/length so that you can mount them. I truly wish they'd made these longer, because there is a possibility they won't work for you, so be sure to measure first.The rails are durable and strong. The lids for bins that I have and checked can be accommodated just fine. You're not likely to find lids deeper than these are for. Installation is simple, and most won't need the instructions. Measuring is the most difficult part. They included fasteners, but you may want to use something different depending on where you want to install them. The price seems a little steep though for only being able to take a couple bins. I get it, nothing is cheap anymore, but it seems like they could be priced a little cheaper for what they are. But if space is at a premium like it is in my basement, it's worth it. If you don't have the floor space, going above is really the only solution. Overall, I like these, and there's nothing really to complain about.
