I ordered two of the turtles for my two golden retrievers, and although they are really cute and the dogs loved them, they are not that durable. It only took a few days for our 2yr old golden to get them open and start pulling out stuffing and a squeaker.

This is the only toy that my dog won't destroy. We had one that outlasted all the other toys with the squeaker still in tact. Which is a full blown miracle. So I searched the internet for another one for my aggressive chewer. Squeaker toys usually last about ten minutes if we're lucky. This think is going on a month with no damage.

I bought all new toys for my dachshund after he had shredded all his stuffies. I loved this toy, thought it was super cute and I guess my dog did too. He was able to tear it apart at one of the legs at the seams within a week. I would not recommend this toy for dogs who like to shred things. It's not very durable

Cooper chews toys! A lot! They don’t last long at all. I have purchased this fire hose alligator at least 4 times for other dogs we had and now Cooper… 16 month German Shorthair Pointer. Most toys last a few weeks or days even.. stuffing everywhere! This has lasted 4+ months and the ends are chewed but he loves it! I will gladly buy another when this one bites the dust.

I bought this product for a little cocker spaniel for her 1 st Birthday,well within 1 hr she had ripped it apart and the owner had trouble getting parts out of her mouth.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

This Red Lizard toy is a hit with my dog! 🐾 He’s a heavy chewer, but this thing is tough—made with firehose material, so it can take some serious bites. It’s also fun for tug-of-war and interactive play, plus it’s lightweight and easy for him to carry around. The lizard design is cute, and it doesn’t fall apart after a few play sessions like some other toys. Definitely recommend if you’ve got an active pup that loves to chew!

My 5 year old German Shepherd is really tough on toys. I bought this toy 4 years ago as a “lizard”. He loved the toy and immediately began chewing off the legs. Within a few days I had to cut off the remaining legs to prevent him from focusing on them and potentially eating the material. He also peeled off all the stickers for the eyes, scales, etc. Eventually I put the legless lizard in a basket with old toys and forgot about it. About 6 months ago, I found it and I gave it to him, and it’s now one of his favorites toys. None of the squeakers still squeak, but the toy is intact and renamed “snake”. I’m considering buying a different style for variety. I wish they’d make them without legs, eyes, etc.. which are really for the owner think it looks “cute” but cause some pets to fixate on until removed. Overall it gets 4 stars as it’s still going…

No photo to show... absolutely destroyed this in minutes. I am appalled. This is such a rip off for what I paid for. My dog is an Irish Terrier and literally destroyed it in a matter of minutes.

I've always purchased Outward Hound toys as well as small dog carriers, etc. They have always proven themselves to be superior to other toys. I always hold out for giving reviews, to give the product a while to prove itself, and it's durability. As a professional dog trainer, I have reviewed MANY dog toys with my own dogs along with daycare dogs. For Christmas, I purchased this toy for my Giant Schnauzer pup. I gave him this toy in January as he already had a plethora of other toys, so I decided to save until he needed something fresh. To my surprise, I was completely dissatisfied with this toy. Although the small print states it's not constructed of the fire hose material. My dog in just a few days completely destroyed this toy. The first squeaker came out the first day.. The second day, it was shredded, under supervision. I like to test toys with my own dog and pass on information to my clients as well as determining the toys that will stand up in my daycare. This was a MASSIVE failure.. Within 20 min on the second day, there was red material and threading spread through my living room and a squeaker was completely decimated. My Giant is admittedly an aggressive chewer, hence my reasons for purchasing this toy. The iron eyes and mouth were located floating in my dog's beard. I am truly disappointed with the quality of this toy. I've purchased high-end to cheap toys which in the end is menial. What matters is how well the toy is constructed, and this toy didn't even make the charts. I would love to be a toy tester for a company that wants to put their toys through thoroughly REAL LIFE testing. I am SOOOO disappointed with the manufacturing, materials, and longevity this toy has offered.. Outward Hounds.. you have earned a double thumbs down on this one...

This will certainly be pretty indestructable for moderate chewers, but my pit has a personal vendetta against all squeakers, and he had chewed a hole through the middle section and murdered the 'invincible' squeaker within 5 minutes. It is possible that the squeaker is just full of Clyde spit right now and will commence squeaking when it eventually dries out (that's happened with a different toy), but for now, he's happily killing the other two squeakers as I type. He's also got most of one leg off, but I didn't expect those to last long, as they are not made of the same fire hose material as the body. NBD. Most of the vinyl decals have already come off too, but again, very reasonable with a super chewer. I buy Clyde toys expressly for him to destroy. This one will last longer than most, just maybe not with squeakers intact. ;-). UPDATED TO ADD: photo after half a day. Nearly all surface decoration is gone, and all three squeakers are thoroughly dead, BUT, he has not managed to actually chew the squeakers out of the toy. The material is holding up very well to the onslaught, and I think Clyde will continue to enjoy gnawing on this for a long time.
