I live in the basement floor of an apt building. I leave a string of night light on at night. I used to have to come out and connect it daily to turn it on. This timer has made my life 100% better. Worth every penny.

Bought this item to be able to run our Christmas lights out at the cabin on a nightly basis whether we were there or not. Set it up and was able to verify that it would turn on the lights each night at the specified time and turn them off again at the time scheduled to turn them off on a daily basis. Does exactly what is supposed to do. Looks to be sturdy and well built. Would recommend this to anybody needing a timer for lighting or any other electrical item requiring a timer.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED AND SEEMS SO FAR PRETTY ACCURATE. LIKE THE SHORT WIRE WITH NOT AN OVERLY LARGE PLUG. THE SEE THROUGH COVER IS ALSO A PLUS. TIME SETTING IS A BIT COMBERSOME.

I bought this in September & 5 months later it has stopped working, the timer mechanism is hung up & won’t turn.

PRO:1. Working for two months now, bit of rain and wind, no problems.2. Old school push in pins to choose on / off times. No LCD dimly lit screen to mess with.3. Plastic cover keeps the elements off the mechanical parts.CON:1. Would not recommend for harsh environments, construction sites, etc.2. The pins are a bit hard to UN-choose / DE-select, but not too bad.3. Cord is a tiny bit short, so keep that in mind.4. The actual outlet face is only 1/4th inch inside the covered area, so blowing rain, may reach the outlet and cause a breaker to trip.OTHER:1. BUY if you have a plug and forget situation.2. DON'T BUY if you are looking for a rugged / heavy duty set, this is not it.

I first got a timer locally for the 1500 watt heater I was needing to heat my milking parlor. With the heater on high, it lasted about 2 minutes. It was rated for the same wattage as this one, which is about the max for ordinary household sockets. This one works just as it's supposed to, and I've used it a week or so now. You can slide the button up from "timer" to "on" if you want the thing on when it's not already on automatically. That switch doesn't have a nice positive click, you kind-of feel like you haven't gotten it to the "on" position, but the heater (in my case) comes on and when I switch it back to "timer" it goes back off until it's scheduled time. That's the only fault I find with it. It was easy to set up, and will be easy to change if I need to.
