I was a certified auto/truck technician my entire working carrier and used the OTC Antizap many times to protect the sensitive electronic circuits on vehicles during weld processes. Now that I'm retired and still do some side work, and no longer have access to my former employers equipment, I found the need to purchase one of my own. This tool is well worth the money when you consider just how much damage to can to do to a modern computer controlled vehicle during welding procedures.

I have had a problem with my 2001 Dodge pickups truck transmission torkconverter lockup due to a voltage surge from the time that we bought it 74,000 miles ago. It drove me almost insane with the converter locking and unlocking especially if When I turned on the headlights or AC and the altinator would start changing. I finally realized that it was an electrical surge that was causing it to do that. I went to Amazon to see if I could find a 12 volt DC surge protector and there it was. It arrived early and I clipped it onto the battery and then went for a test ride and Wow for the first time the transmission shifted perfectly. Now I will make a permanent positive connection. Love it
