Our dog is getting older and has a lot of accidents. She ruined an area rug even though we tried to clean it numerous times. We ended up buying a new rug and bought this floor protector. The only problem we have it that it is slippery but just needed to get some wear and tear to get rid of the slippery problem. It is thick. It has made our life so much easier.

It's an office chair mat, office chairs have wheels. If you roll the chair at all, the mat bubbles up and wrinkles.

This thing moves all over the place on the carpet. Even when I don’t walk/sit on it…I keep my office chair on this mat to make it easier to move on the carpet. I’ll be gone days at a time and come back to the mat moved when no one was in the room. Ghost or physics? No idea.I don’t love that there aren’t the little spikes to keep it in place but it’s not a deal breaker. I just move the mat back as needed. It flattened out pretty well after opening.

We just redid our floors. Now we have a beautiful white oak floor. We put a clear stain to keep it fairly light and truly enjoy the look of the wood. Our dining room flows right into our kitchen so we decided to make the floor all wood for continuity. To protect the are that flows through the kitchen we put this on the floor and it works great. The fact that it's clear is perfect - we get to appreciate the beautiful wood without worrying about getting any damage to the floor. It has a great weight to it and cuts rather easily.

So far we are very satisfied; the size is accurate, the material is as flexible and as thick as expected. The "rug" does not keep the shipping shape and it lays flat easily (at normal room temperature). We will change review if it doesn't clean easily or if it scratches too easily.

Even thought the description says this is for hard floors, I wanted it for a desk sitting on carpet. So it does not work as well for me. It still works, but it is not designed for carpet. That is not the fault of the mat, it is the fault of the user, me. In any case, it works pretty well even on carpet. But I tried it on a hard wood floor and it worked better there.
