This stylus sounds great and is a nice upgrade from the 10. It shipped out quickly and was packed well. Pleased all around.

Wow. Just replaced a less than 9 months old OM10 stylus in the OMP cartridge with this OM20 stylus, and the results are outstanding. Playback now sounds true to life with the OM20.Playback using the OM10 was at times very muddled. I listen to many genres from jazz/bebop to classic & new rock, first wave, EDM, blues, funk and more. I was always wondering if it was the recording quality, my nearly 40yr old Technics SL-DD22 turntable, the relatively new OM10 stylus, or my nearly new Klipsch R-41PM speakers.Literally a 10 second swap from the OM10 to the OM20 and I'm enjoying clean, clear music with exceptional sonic quality across all genres! No worries with tracking force so far. The SL-DD22 (and many turntables from the late 80's) is factory set and fixed at 1.25g while the OM20 specs recommend 1.5g.If you have an OM10 and are on the fence thinking 'Is the OM20 worth it(?)'... absolutely. Get the OM20 now and enjoy your vinyl!

This was a noticeable step up from the great OM10. Broader frequency response opens up the subtle things that might have been lost in the mix before. Very happy, even at the high price. Using it on a Pro-Ject A1.

I see some happy upgrades from the OM5 to this OM20, but wasn't sure how much of a difference it would be to go from an OM10 to a OM20. Everything sounded nice with the OM10, but the OM20 was still floating around my affordable range face. Curiosity eventually got the better of me.It made a significant difference, more than worth it. To the point of endgame with the stylus for me and I started looking at upgrading other components. After the switch, I can now hear what people mean by being a bit brighter, it does sound brighter, but turns out that is apparently my preference. The sound was so crystal clear. Lyrics and other music that I didn't pick up on before, now just popping out at me. I listen to a variety of music from Classical, to The Cure, Guns N' Roses and Enya , they all sound wonderful. It was very easy to install on my Fluance RT82 record player. Pull one stylus off, slide the new one on. The packaging is not exactly tamper proof though and I was a little nervous at first glance when I received, wondering if it was a legit product. If you are a bit new to all of this like I am, the components that seem to matter the most so far for me have been headphones, stylus and headphone amp (strangely my stereo receiver did not do the job I thought it would, driving the headphones to reach their optimum sound, so I was fooled at the time because it still sounded decent.)I have the Fluance acrylic platter, a tube preamp, fancy World's Best Gotham Cables, but this OM20 stylus, Sennheiser 600 headphones and Schiit brand headphone amp/preamp all made a significant difference when I upgraded from other components. I know you can take it further with more money, but it sounds sweet to me from that simple set up and can finally say I understand now why some people prefer the sound of records over other formats.

WitamPolecam wszystkim niezdecydowanym. Ja dla porównania miałem wcześniej AT-VM95EN. Ortofon om 20 grają u mnie do wkładki omb 10 na gramofonie dual cs491. Muza leci przez 50 letni amplituner Toshiba.Ta igła to strzał w dziesiątkę. Jest czysto, klarownie. Słychać wszystkie instrumenty i jest energetycznie.

I have a Pro Ject Debut Carbon that came equipped with an Ortofon OM10 cartridge. Finally took the plunge and upgraded the stylus to the OM 20. What a difference, even to these older ears! Much greater depth and warmth, deep lush bass and great mids providing an excellent overall sound. Well worth the money in my estimation.

Well, it was time for a new stylus and I decided to make the jump from a 5E stylus to this 20. I think this thing ruined a couple of records for me, but not in the way that you might think. The 5E is a really great stylus, especially when you consider the price. It resolves very well across all frequencies and tracks like a champion. The 20 is basically the 5E on steroids. It's ability to resolve tiny nuanced details is uncanny. Cymbals have an entirely new dimensionality, tiny nuggets of information that were, before, buried in the mix, now emerge much closer to the surface, the oscillation of low frequency synths is crisper and sounds like it's ripping the air around you in two, you can feel exactly how hard a guitar string is plucked. Your brain immediately focuses in on these now-prominent elements of songs that it's accustomed to, and it does make you feel like you haven't heard them properly before to a certain extent. So, why did it ruin some of my records? I have a group of records that I considered to be in the top tier of my collection in terms of both mastering and physical quality. It includes some new 45rpm MoFi records, very very clean early presses of some of my favorite albums, as well as some other newer presses that I regarded very highly. Turns out, 50% of those records are really not as good as I had initially thought. The difference between the super high quality MoFi records and my "really good" normal releases became painfully apparent immediately. They still sound pretty good, but I think even an untrained ear would be able to tell the difference in quality now.One thing to keep in mind if upgrading from another OM cartridge: the 20 requires a very precise alignment. Records I had no problem with using my 5E started skipping CONSTANTLY all of the sudden, and deep bass lines started to produce noticeable IGD. I finally pulled out my Geo Disc to check it and it was just a hair off, so I decided to monkey with it. After 30 minutes and one beer, I finally had the stylus lined up. I put on a very challenging song that it wasn't previously able to handle and it tracked perfectly. No IGD either. It's worth noting, the stylus itself has a lot of left to right play when it's actually set down. Aligning the stylus correctly on the Geo Disc required turning the cartridge body a little bit inward past where it is square with an alignment grid. After listening to a few records, I'm pretty confident that lining the stylus up is much more important than worrying about the cartridge body.Long read, I know, but there is very little information on the forums about these cartridges compared to others. If you're still reading down here, I hope this helped! Buy this or go full stupid and get the 30 or 40.
