Product Description

Rooted in Mexican and Latin American traditions, requinto guitars are smaller versions of the classical guitar with a shorter scale length and a notably deeper body depth. Our Requinto Series guitars are not only suitable for Trío romántico groups and traditional folk music but are also great instruments for acoustic performances, where amplification is not possible, as they are much louder than a traditional small body guitar.

From the Manufacturer

Ortega breaks barriers without losing focus on the basics of classical guitar making. Always conscious of the deep traditions of guitar construction, we are not afraid to apply contemporary processes in order to improve the playing experience. Two-way truss rods, 12-hole bridges, and a wide variety of scale lengths and nut widths are just some of the ways Ortega is moving guitar building forward in order to make a better instrument for you.

Sounds horrible. Continued to untune after multiple tunes. Visible, messy, ugly wiring inside. Volume controls in the hole (bad placement). The bottom part where you connect the cord and put the strap came unscrewed. Doesn’t connect to amp well, had to keep pushing the cord in (the cord isn’t the problem I checked). Overall, wouldn’t recommend at all.

This is a nice little guitar. Nice wood. Nice finish. OK sound, but I could not stop it buzzing. I tried adjusting the truss rod, and even tried heavier strings. Could not stop the buzzing. It has to go back.
