Good product. However, o ring, which keeps the timer from admitting water, is almost impossible to replace. After a couple of years the o ring becomes brittle and needs replacing. Possibly, if I bought a set of 100, one might fit! Orbit directed me to the usual hardware stores. Nobody has one this size.Had to buy a new timer as the old one was corroded. I'll put a plastic bag over it and hope for the best.Orbit could include replacement 0 rings in their packaging if they'd like to keep their customers. Only problem I've had with this product.

For an area of my yard that I had to remember to go out and manually turn on the sprinklers day in and day out - this device saved me time and trouble! It was easy to set up and install. Took 10 minutes for a "set and forget". For sustained reliability - must remember to check battery status periodically and replace them when the indicator light comes on - do it sooner/a couple of months at a time.

I have these installed all over the wildlife center I run. They are all installed above ground either in shaded areas or with a cloth or bit of wood to shade them. Some are used for normal landscape watering but most sprinkle animal enclosures or aviaries. They work great. I can program different lines to run for differing lengths of time.Each of the animal care areas areas requires different watering schedules and watering at different times of the day, so I central controller wouldn't work even if I could run the wires all over the two acre facility.I take them down during the winter, remove the batteries and keep them dry. I make sure the solenoid connectors are protected from getting wet. It doesn't freeze here, so that isn't an issue.Mo only complaint is that I have to buy the valve along with the controller. I cannot use those 1 inch underground valves. I need to use the 3/4" above ground valves with back flow prevention.

Muy fácil de programar y conectar. Funciona perfectamente.Con este producto no se tiene que usar un sistema que controle todas las zonas, simplemente tienes que poner correctamente la hora y fecha igual en todos los que instales y tú controlas los tiempos en cada uno de los dispositivos.

I have installed four of these valves + controllers on my property and I am planning to add another valve to one of them. They have been running flawlessly for a few months now. They solve a big problem as running wires to these location is far too difficult to be worth it. The only minor detail I would change is the flimsy design of the support bracket which puts it up on the top of the valve. These are well sealed and what I really like is the ability to take the controller unit out of the housing so it can be serviced and set. In sunny locations, I have added a wooden box over the valve unit (from IKEA) which is designed to allow me to turn the box over on top of the valve and pipes, and allow removal of the top of the box (which would normally be the bottom). This keeps the direct sun off the unit and the pipes which will otherwise degrade in the sunlight. In that case, I am not using the bracket but setting the controller housing further down in the wooden box.UPDATE -- after a year of using these, I have found that the sealed case will not successfully make it through a winter in the yard without cover from the elements, and the lower half of the box will fill with water, ruining the switches that turn on the valve. I will be pulling these out of their remote locations and putting them in a dry area during the winter months. The electronic switches in the base are what I tend to have trouble with.UPDATE -- One timer continues to go on over and over, have had to take it out of service. The valve is still fine, but the electronics only is what I need to replace now. The programming seems to have a bug!
