This review is only after 5 or 6 days of use and, I am not using any of the advanced features, just tracking a vehicle. For all intense and purposes, this unit is functioning flawlessly for me. I particularly like the hard wired feature and not having to worry about changing a battery out when it's low. A little more work up front but definitely worth it. Attached is a sample of a day of driving for this idiot. Forgot to add that the app is really easy to use for the simple stuff.

This did exactly what I needed it to do. Connected to the battery on my trailer, signed up in a few minutes and had my assest tracked without issue. For $13 a month, this is great peace of mind. The GPS signal is also quite accurate, stays updated, easy to use and worked great. When installing, the size was perfect as I could tuck it somewhere discreet.

Pros: The installation was extremely easy. It always has a signal. Fairly accurate (if they stop it may not p/u on the stop). I've NOT noticed a drain on the battery. Cons: it says it auto updates every 30 seconds that is NOT accurate! You can send a "poll" to request a update for a immediate position and that doesn't always work. Over all it's worth it i think. I would recommend this product!!! I would like a more "real time tracking" because again it only updates every 30 seconds (which isn't correct).

I wantted a tracker for my classic so if it was to get taken I would have a better chance of getting it back. And these hard wire ones seam to be the answer. The montly subcription is only $11.00 when bought by 6mo. I will by a 2 year one when this exspires and save more. It is as easy as they say to install but I had diferent needs/wants so I made the wires longer and installed a disconect on the leads and have it nicely tucked away out of site. By having the disconection I can move it to my other car. This way when I go on a road trip in ether ride we have the protection. It is so senitive that I had to turn off the notifacations while installing it. My phone (Iphone) will text me within 30 seconds of tampering with the car, and that is just an extra bonus I think. We will see how it does with the geofence tomarrow. Well its spot on too, left the area and again within 30 sec I was being alerted. This is going to be great piece of mind on my road trip.Have noticed that while parked for days in a garage it will move around some like one day it was 150 ft away in my naibors house, but it did alert me that it had left the geofence I had made. Best to have outside for accurate readings.

I originally purchased the Optimus 2.0 GPS Tracker for use on my semi-trailer truck. Although there was more drifting than I would have liked, overall, it performed quite well. Since I found a more suitable installation spot that also allows for continuous power supply, it has become more convenient for me as I no longer need to take it down periodically for charging. Therefore, I purchased the GB 100 and asked the online customer service to help with the hardware exchange and installation on my semi-trailer truck. The result has been very satisfying. It updates the location quickly and also sends back the battery voltage, allowing me to know the condition of the battery. After parking for a while, the update speed decreases, but as soon as the vehicle starts moving, it updates the location quickly again. I believe this must be due to a vibration detection feature in the hardware. In other reviews, I have seen concerns about the precision of the location and severe drifting issues. I think it's important to have a basic understanding when installing a GPS device. The signal strength from satellites is very weak, so the top of the locator (the side with the label) should ideally face the sky, without any metal objects blocking it. If it's obstructed by glass or plastic, there should be no problem. You can install it inside the dashboard (try not to install it under a metal bracket) or inside the bumper, as long as you adhere to the principle of the locator's front facing the sky, unobscured by metal objects. If installed under the vehicle with the front facing down, the probability of your locator receiving diffracted satellite signals increases, which will affect the positioning accuracy. Believe me, this physical limitation applies to products from any brand.

This Optimus unit is much more precise than I expected in a consumer GPS. I moved the car over 3 feet on the driveway, and it registered that small move and drew a new map. Impressive. It updates at 30 second intervals, which is adequate for my use, which is to track the car if it is stolen (just had another car stolen from me in Arizona -- and recovered by Colorado police - YAY! ). It is also very sensitive to movement such as shutting the trunk or closing a door. For some, it might be too sensitive, but if so, the apps do allow you to turn the "movement alert" on and off quickly. Obviously anyone trying to monkey with the car is going to set it off -- even if they jack it up for stealing wheels or to tow, it is going to alert. The phone app and the web browser app are not all that impressive, but they do respond quickly to the units communications, usually within 5-7 seconds of the "triggering event" in my testing of it. It also uses Google maps, so that is a good thing. Overall, I'd say the apps are mediocre, but still no complaints, as they DO get the job done in a basic way. Installation is as simple as splicing into a 12v wire ("hot" at all times) and a ground wire. Easy as pie (the unit comes with its own in-line fuse holder and 5A fuse). It draws only a few mA, and leaving the car parked for 5 days without being started had no effect at all on the battery's starting power delivery. I can't speak to longevity or durability, but the GPS unit seems to be well made and a solid piece. As long as it holds up over time, this seems to be a really good unit and a nice bang-for-the-buck value.
