Purchased this so I could connect my vintage CD player to my Wiim Pro Plus. Happy to say that the coax in, toslink out work beautifully and my CDs sound so much better now that I'm able to use the DAC from my Wiim. Highly recommend!!! 🙌🥂

nice little unit. there's a switch that select what type of audio input it's receiving (coax {aka rca composite yellow connector} or toslink. i assume that it outputs to both coax and toslink ports (i'm converting coax to toslink and it worked perfectly). it needs AC power because of the optical connections.

I used this to convert a SoundBlaster AWE64 Gold S/PDIF signal from coaxial to optical. It seemed to work ok for a while. Unfortunately, I get audio crackles now. Every time I turn it on, I have to wiggle it around to make them go away. If I breathe on it, they come back. Sometimes they come back even if I don't breathe on it. Maybe it's a bad unit? I'm afraid to order another one.

We have an old TV with built-in speakers that are going out. The tv has a coaxial digital output plug, no optical output or extra HDMI plug. I purchased a speaker bar with subwoofer that had HDMI and optical inputs. This little box was a plug and play converter from coaxial to optical. Came with the wires necessary as well. The tv sound is better than ever. The only downside is the bright led light and lack of an on/off switch. I’ve been removing the plug after use. Otherwise, works great!

I wanted this to convert the S/PDIF output of my Numark TTX1 turntable to optical TOSLINK so I could transmit digital signal to my SoundBlaster Z SE soundcard for recording without possibility of analog noise from the computer. After failing to get this to work with two other options on Amazon, I was beginning to despair that my devices were somehow incompatible with this type of conversion, even though the output worked fine when sent to digital inputs on my stereo receiver. Much to my pleasure, however, this device works flawlessly. Highly recommend to anyone requiring conversion between coax and optical digital format.Do not let the product image fool you - it shows 2 devices stacked and rotated 180 degrees to show the interfaces on both sides. I initially bypassed this option despite it being the least expensive because that image had me thinking it was a larger, more ungainly device than the competition.

Product effectively bridges my 12+ year old tv with new soundbar. Included cables make connectivity and setup super easy. I recommend using your tv to power the device via usb so that the device is not constantly powered on while not in use, as the manufacturer warns to not leave device powered on when not in use. Take time to study what connections you’re trying to make to insure this is the actual device that provides desired connection chain. My older tv did not have a digital optical port onboard, but rather a digital out jack. I prefer 5.1 surround sound audio quality to get the full audio experience while watching shows and movies mixed in more than left and right channel audio spectrum. This device allows addition of greater clarity and detail to the audio perception as was intended. This device allows me to continue using older equipment (tv) with newer equipment (5.1 surround sound system) for a fraction of the cost! In other words, my older tv did tv is now compatible with my new surround sound system without costing an arm and a leg!

***Update again. Same recurring problem with the new unit. This works but not in the long term. I am going to try another brand. You get what you pay for. I'll spend more now and maybe have better luck.**Update to previously negative review. This company stands behind their product. Seller Customer service was very helpful and responsive. We got the unit working again. It is important to use the power supply that came with the unit and not another power supply, which turned out to be one of the problems I was having. The power supply of the original purchase was defective and this company sent a new unit even though out of the return window. I am very happy again with the quality of sound this unit produces. I highly recommend.Very easy to install and sound quality was excellent after I hooked smart tv up to stereo receiver. I have been using it for approximately 27 days, on a daily basis. Turned it on this AM and it worked just fine for about 1 hour and then sound level dropped so low I could barely hear anything. Turned up volume to max on receiver and the sound was very fuzzy and full of static. Basically not tolerable. Even though I had no problems for almost a month, and the setup had not been touched since the original install, I tried to tinker with the volume and audio controls on the TV. Nothing I did corrected the problem. Finally I turned everything off for 20 minutes and re-started. At that point the excellent sound quality I had before returned. Everything crystal clear and sharp again. This should not happen. I have started a return. I need something that works without constant tinkering for much longer than the time I got with this device. I don't recommend.

First one got lost in transit, but the seller was amazing when I spoke with 'em and sent a replacement that arrived quickly. The power cable is a little on the short side, but in the end the device works beautifully. It's very nice to have my sound bar working on my TV completely.
