Simply connect its 3.5 mm plug to the headphone jack of a laptop or digital music player, and this compact DI automatically converts the audio signal to a balanced, mic-level XLR output suitable for use with high-powered amplifiers. The volume knob enables additional adjustment of the output level while the ground-lift switch provides control over hum caused by ground loops. Passive and transformer based, this DI does not use a power supply and delivers electrical isolation for convenient, reliable sound preservation.

I wanted to replace my Rapco Horizon DI that I lost. This On Stage DI popped up and since it's a little less expensive than the Rapco, I decided to try this On Stage DI a try.The first thing I didn't expect was how big the DI is. It's almost twice the size of a Rapco DI which surprised me. Also, the 3.5mm attached cable is super long. It looks like it's about 6 feet long. But the biggest negative for me is that with the volume knob maxed out, I still had to max out the gain on my mixer to get a good level and even with everything maxed out, the level still doesn't reach unity. The level gets close to unity but it never even touches it.I think I'll keep the DI but I won't buy another one until I hear that On Stage fixes the problem. I think the problem is that this DI was designed to be used with a mixer with a lower input resistance but all the mixers I've used have similar input resistance so On Stage needs to go back to the drawing board and redesign this DI to work with all the current mixers on the market.

this item is larger than i expected. it's buil well and the ground/lift switch and volume knob may be superfluous but they're nice to have. unfortunately for my application it was too quiet. connecting my phone to a powered speaker (alto ts408 ) was quieter than playing audio via bluetooth to the same speaker. this would work fine for a mixer with gain adjustment.

I've been using the Rapco version of this connector for years now, and I've seen their prices continue to climb, so I decided to give this a shot. It's pretty much the same exacting thing that works in the same exact way with the added bonus of a longer 1/8 cable. I purchase two, and plan on adding a couple more (I do Audio Visual presentations).

Needed for our Zoom convention hall use. Blends the 2 laptop sound channels to 1 XLR feed to the board. Excellent build quality and functions very well.
