We were required to install these as our work was considered new construction (because we had open framing at the ceilings). It was annoying to measure them out so precisely before the drywall went up, but made cutting the holes for the cans really easy after drywall went up - just run a router or roto zip blade around the inside of the circle and it’s a perfect cut.

I was initially disappointed with the packaging of the product. The box arrived slightly damaged, and the packaging felt a bit flimsy. However, once my electric workers started using them, the product itself proved to be solid and reliable. The steel plates are sturdy, easy to install, and perfect for new construction projects. The electrician has now incorporated these plates into their daily work, and they appreciate the quality and durability. Despite the packaging issue, the product is excellent and does the job well!

The product is good but it should not cost me more than the lights. I purchased it because of the good reviews. The quality is very good. I wish I could find this for less somewhere but I didn't.

These are just what my husband wanted for our new home build. They are sturdy but bendable. It will save a lot of headaches when positioning all of our lighting. Price was identically comparable to Home Depot for the same product. My husband is a contractor and definitely appreciates having these to guide and support the lighting. 5 stars!

Heavy duty plates with sharp edges. Wear gloves.That being said, the simple design and sturdy nature of these mounting plates make them easy to work with.5 stars. Recommended!

These went up really on my new construction, and then the lights went into the plates to make installation a breeze and save on having to run wood cross-members between the floor joists.
