I had to change my review as at first The battery is OK and it drains very fast but after couple of charges it started to last longer so in standby it lasted for days. I recommend it if you can get the original one. But still installing it was not simple I had to use professional help.

Replaced two of these one afternoon. Both batteries have performed better than I expected. You hope they will, and these have. Discharge to 10% , then recharge to 100% , four times. Don’t partial charge them. Drain to 10% , then recharge. Not a job for the careless, you must be careful and pay close attention. You Tube video s are helpful, especially the “what not to do “ ones.

I got this installed and battery is functioning. This was a challenging repair. There are many small connections that I needed a magnifier on. Also some heat gun work. I did this on an older iPad. I would pay a pro if it were a newer more expensive model. Took all of 3 hours

This Kit came with a very useful set of tools, compared to some other options. Install is not for faint of heart, but that is APPLE's fault.Battery itself seems pretty good. Plenty of capacity and recharges quickly. Unexpected bonus is 5 yo iPad 6th Gen got significant performance boost. I thought Apple quit throttling old batteries ... Dunno. Wasn't expecting performance to improve, but I'll take it.

I installed this in my iPad and it does not hold a charge past 18%. It was totally installed correctly. I watched many many videos on YouTube to show how to install it as it is I ended up breaking the glass on the iPad so I had to get a new glass for the front. This was a complete waste of time and waste of money. My advice is don’t waste your time on this horrible product because it doesn’t work.

I accepted the challenge! I persevered! I conquered! This is not an easy thing to do. Apple does not manufacture the iPad to allow owners to simply replace the battery. They would be happy to sell you a new iPad I'm sure. The device is glued together, so you have to cut and pry it apart without breaking the glass. You have to avoid shorting out components while carefully disconnecting and re-connecting tiny cables . Good luck. It's simpler if you replace the glass screen and the battery while you're in there, as I did. Just break the glass. But watch out for the flying glass splinters. I found the hardest part was warming the glue, and worrying about baking important stuff in the process. The pros use nice heat tables to warm and soften the glue before slicing and prying.

Amazingly this seems to work great with my ancient iPad Air (first generation). Replacing it was not the easiest repair so be prepared for at least 2 hours of delicate work. It helps being super organised and read all the instructions on iFixit before starting. After replacing the battery I followed the advice by the manufacturer doing a few charge/discharge cycles. Battery seems to be working fine two weeks after the replacement. Fingers crossed it will work fine for at least another year or two.

It took me three hours to install the battery. The tool are overall useful, I recommend to use one-side blade, which is very helpful to separate the digitalizer from the pad. The battery loss energy very quickly, after fully charged, it loss 15% in 30min by using of youtube only. I will deplete and charge the battery for a few cycles and hope to improve the battery a little bit. Two important lessons for changing the battery: 1. There are three cables connect the digitalizer to the ipad on the low right side of the ipad (facing the camera top position), the cable just 1-2 millimeters from the edge, you should not move the blade more than one millimeter inside when trying to separate them, otherwise, you most probably will damage the cable as I did, I damaged one of the connecting cable and half of the touch screen stopped working and have to order a new one. 2. I did not remove the mother board to remove and install the new battery. There are a poll hold the old battery in position, if you don't want to remove the mother board, you have to gentle break the gel between the mother board and the back, then lift the mother board a little bitter, slightly LIFT and pull the battery out of the position. Hope my note will be helpful. Thanks.

I had been replacing the front panel a couple of times. The first battery package from different seller came with damaged adhesive strip and suction cup.I believe the adhesive strip is important because iPad has no screw hold but adhesive strip. My 2nd order from this seller was cheaper but realized both of them are packed with same packaging design.Discharged battery before beginning and I had some extra polyimide tape and Tera tape around.Reading and Following iFixit.com procedure up to step43 (with heat gun instead of iOpener)I made a battery removal tool with 0.35mm fishing wire and two small wooden sticks (refer my pics)Put the wire in between bottom case and battery and saw off slowing and carefullyLift and pull battery slowly but I have to break a screw holding ring of battery terminal for easy removaland get rid of broken ring piece later on.Cleaned all sticky left over and used plastic hands to lift main PCB to make enough space to put new battery in without damage of battery screw ring. This method is not required further disassembling (after step43)Put them back together in reverse order.(lots of cleaning and removing sticky left over)So far so good and this new battery is giving plenty of power for my iPad as same as the new one.
